Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from October 16, 2015 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

"Rosecrans Boulevard" was a really neat, strange song. I think I'm going to have to go back and listen to it again. Kind of enigmatic, and with an unconventional tune. Reminded me of Bacharach's "Hasbrouck Heights", but in a woebegone way.
Avatar 12:34pm
67tele:

Webb has a great book "Tunesmith" for songwriting - great to read his writing, tho by the time you get to the chapters on music theory, the weaklings (me) start getting separated from the heavy hitters
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm

I have always meant to read that. I've always heard raves for it.
