I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

October is gone but we're still 5% away from our fundraiser goal! You can help us push to 100% from the banner on top of the playlist (& credit it to my show if you like.) Please throw in some bucks and let us survive!

Good Monday, Mayuko and all! Hoping my fellow listeners (and DJ!) on Eastern Time are coping with the early dusk as best they can!

Very good evening to all Mayukans, and especially to our fearless leader!

Good evening, james and Doug and all! Thank you for tuning in.

Now its dark....
Avatar 5:10pm
Mayuko:

I know, Dave B! I was shocked to see studio C in complete dark when I arrived here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm
Doug Schulkind:

As long as it is Studio See, you'll be okay, Mayuko.

Welcome on board, Ken! Now that you said that it does look like a problematic brain to me too, haha, but I thought it was beautiful!

My I play too?

Avatar 5:37pm
Dave B:

HAHAHA - does not apply to you. You're driving!
Avatar 5:40pm
Mayuko:

Ha, that's true! That's funny the driver can be small when passengers cannot.
Avatar 5:44pm
Dave B:

As long as you can see over the steering wheel...

I dig this enka tune... even if I can't understand it.
Avatar 5:49pm
Mayuko:

She's Hikaru Utada's mom, Dave B. I think it could have been the time Hikaru was super popular when you were in Japan.
Avatar 5:53pm
Dave B:

Could be... But I also really enjoy the melancholy sound of enka.

Switching to mobile!

Heya Mayuko and folks.

Does the sound of cutting paper remind you of making art?

Hallo Mayuko, checking in, digging the show!

こんばんは DJ Mayuko! I'll have to go to the archive later to hear what you said about the Mutter Museum.

i wonder what amplified exacto knife would sound like
Avatar 6:18pm
Mayuko:

Hi Steve, Carmichael and maestroso! Thank you for tuning in!!
Avatar 6:19pm
Mayuko:

I think exacto knife amplified should sound pretty good since it already does as is. Very small sound, but.
Avatar 6:27pm
Īke:

Great sounds! This is relaxing after a rough day. I had a job interview that stretched towards infinity. It was almost like being put on a stage and asked to improvise business-speak when you're not a trained actor. Ack.

Dave B:

Good stuff on this here set
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm

first time listening to your show. dig the sounds
Avatar 6:34pm

Jeez Ike, your interviews are legendary. Hope you finally land something after all this rigamarole.
Avatar 6:34pm
Mayuko:

That sounds awful, Ike. I can't quite picture you doing such things. Hope I can help you feel better. There's always tomorrow!

Ĩkє:

Thanks folks. @LJfW, what's your favored style manual? Chicago Manual of Style? I was glad to see they use CMS at this job.
Avatar 6:35pm
Mayuko:

james, I think that was the first time I listen to them in maybe 12 years too! Even though I really liked them.
Avatar 6:37pm
Mayuko:

Welcome on board, bloopy, happy to have you tune in! Always a big delight to have a first time listener.
Avatar 6:40pm
Carmichael:

Do people still use the AP Style guide?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm
listener james from westwood:

@Carmichael: Yes, very much so in print journalism.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm
listener james from westwood:

@Ĩkє: Don't really have one; it's largely what the client calls for. I find myself using CMS16 more often now than my previously predominant style guide, American Psychological Ass'n. I've actually never used AP, but many of my colleagues do. Not called upon for the book projects I mostly do.
