Re: ictus—By coincidence, I am copyediting a book about epilepsy right this minute, and learned earlier that "ictus" is a term for seizure. Weird sync-up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm
KimSorise:

Very odd indeed! Glad to have you as always James!
  7:14pm
Jeff g.:

Thanks for doing this, Kim. Bley, like Bowie, has a catalog one can get lost in.

Jeff g.:

(Ps. FWIW, I'm not seeing song/artist in app? Might just be me, though.)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm
listener james from westwood:

We're down a jazz man, a soul man, and a star man. 2016, man!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm
KimSorise:

I know... it's breaks my heart. Every man for himself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
coelacanth:

at one point when i was ravenous for more Cecil Taylor i really wanted "student studies" but only found it for 1-2 hundred bucks and eventually gave up checking.
then i learned that it's the same album as "paris concerts",which i'd in the meantime acquired.
then i guess people figured that out and the prices dropped a bit on the student studies issues.
...it's a big game.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
KimSorise:

Yes, this is true. Maybe if I get a decent tax return... hahaha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
coelacanth:

ha! i just looked and now a copy of student studies can be got for $11.!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm
listener james from westwood:

Adding all of those to the Powerball-win wish list!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm
coelacanth:

@7:51 so true james. -it's hard to imagine a year of more musical loss than 2015, but at this rate '16 could be many times worse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04pm
listener james from westwood:

We'll doubtless have to say good-bye to some other incredible musical women and men as the year writhes on. At least on FMU there's an excellent chance they'll have been celebrated richly in life before their passing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm
coelacanth:

such a Great album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
coelacanth:

i guess it makes sense, as all those people of the renaissance of modern music (as i call it) are in that general age bracket now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm
KimSorise:

Yes, I forsee the worst over the next few years as we continue to lose more and more musicians that shaped our listening. Bummer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm
KimSorise:

But in accordance we celebrate the music... Always!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
coelacanth:

i'm glad i've lived when i have, and do; and try to not lose sleep over the misfortune of the little ones, who will think of all these riches as antiquated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm
