Hey ho, Carmichael! You're here bright and early – or dark and early, I guess, depending where you are.
Avatar 11:31am
Tony Coulter:

To make sure your pledge is credited to this show you must:

(1) Pledge by clicking the PLEDGE NOW button at the top of the playlist, or the "pledge here" link below it.

(2) Make sure "Tony Coulter" is selected in the program drop-down menu.

(3) Click the + (plus) button where it says CLICK TO ADD SHOW. You must do this even if my name is already there.

Here is a handy graphic explaining the process: blogfiles.wfmu.org...

My marathon premium this year is called "Waka Wave." It's a comp of fab Japanese stuff from the '80s and it's yours for a pledge of $75. Take a gander at the cover: blogfiles.wfmu.org...

And just like last week, my comments co-host is Mayuko of Play Vertigo fame. Thanks, Mayuko!!!

Anyway, enough with the technical details. Stay tuned for lots of great music today, along with the haranguing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am
Jeff Golick:

I'm actually here for the technical details.
Avatar 11:55am
Tony Coulter:

Hey Jeff!

OK, I'll scrap the music and spend as much time as possible on the boring stuff.

I'm here to try and remain conscious till I can leave work. It's spring break and I'M SO BORED.

Is Kenzo still the technical contact for this kind of stuff? I don't want to look like a deadbeat, unless of course I am.

only $20 or more pledge can enter you into the drawing win this Paul Ngozi, and you can help the station and Tony, that's a great deal! Your chance of winning is pretty good right now since the show just started!
Avatar 12:07pm
Tony Coulter:

I will admit one embarrassing thing about myself for each pledge that comes in today. Here's my first admission: The headphones I am now using cost only $20 new. They are truly bottom of the line.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm
Uncle Michael:

Do the Elves take travelers cheques?
Avatar 12:10pm
Tony Coulter:

We will be drawing for the Paul Ngozi in around 20 minutes. Twenty smackeroos is all it takes to have a good chance of winning it. Comes with free giant hippie.
Avatar 12:11pm
Mayuko:

In the meantime, I'd like to thank some pledgers!

Our own Uncle Michael of Hinky Dinky Time!

And not our uncle, but Michael who generously pledged to this show, from New York, NY!

Thank you for your pledges! Please keep it coming, dear listeners! Where are other Michaels? Follow your fellow Michaels and help us!!

@Carmichael 12:01: For questions about WFMU's new Audience Engine pledge pages, talk to Joe M. KenzoDB is still the displayer of S4L radios and hearts on playlists and profiles, but it's now up to AE to use the KDB API to indicate when to turn them on and off, and AE hasn't been doing that. However, the radios can also be turned on by human hands via a KDB admin page, and so you can ask Joe M. to flip yours on.

Hello Tony, Mayuko and every human!
Avatar 2:13pm

Of course, the fact that Troyka (on just now) is a Russian-Canadian psych band is a bit unlikely too. And yet, that's what happens on FMU.

And I have to say, the fact that Tape Hiss shows are not archived makes them all the more special. You have to hear the show in real time, just like radio back in prehistoric times. Except with fewer wooly mammoths.
