@Eddy I have to agree somewhat, but I've only given it one spin. Despite all the hype over being recorded here in Brooklyn at Daptone, I didn't think the songs nor the recordings were particularly great. But, again, it's only one listen. Could be a grower. The s/t from 2010 was just that. It sure ain't no Hourly Daily, or even Convicts for that matter, but I still like it. Also very jealous that you Aussies have such easy access to all Tim's doings!

SonicYouth weren't about catchy tunes aimed @ a Chart - or even primarily songs, it's kinda true. (They'd get a lot of appreciation in Comment for other Programs here, I suspect.) Perhaps also they were just that unfashionable amount of time ago - not the trend now & not long enuff ago for the nostalgic...I admit I got a strong anti-populist streak - & I don't wanna know what Taylor Swift's songs are (I don't have kids either to force expose me to the Top40 or Pop of now)...

HATCH - one thing that sticks with me about that song is that the point of view of the lead vocals have a bit of "can't be bothered to get excited about my own song" and when I hear that, it is hard for ME to get excited - similarly: there's barely a melody - like trying too hard is uncool
