Sounds from the archive of the future, sonic drilling into the past, dissonant rumbling, lyrical melodies, noises (human, animal, mechanical, digital) inscrutable yet honest, desultory but consistent.

Great cuts, enjoying the comments too. You are rolling.

@Van, Irene is busy doing some intergalactic audio engineering, making sonic-blast devices to repel a Cardassian vole infestation. Can't let the little bastards eat all of the spacecraft wiring. Here's hoping she doesn't need to have any philosophical arguments w/a talking bomb.

Seriously though, did you know Irene does audio work for some WNYC stuff like a podcast called The Sporkful? You won't hear her voice, but if you like food, it's worth a listen. It's fun and funny.

Tome:

Diggin' it David always a nice surprise !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm
Mike East:

@ike - I listen to that sometimes, but I almost always read the web summaries. He's got some pretty good ideas and viewpoints, but at times will make some outrageous statements for the sake of being provocative, I think.

People! Why not talk about the nice DJ who is here right now playing nice music for you!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm

@Mike: In a Jamaican accent?

Glad you're enjoying the detour. Re Wrong Em Boyo, I love how slow the song is

Yes, Marcel, as best I can do.

Hah! Would not sound right otherwise!

Boyo is a nice Irish word. Everyone should use it.
  10:59pm
JakeGould:

Boyo backwards is “O Yob” and that doesn’t seem like a positive thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm
Mike East:

glad to know that, Carmichael. Now I can start saying it to my son in a bad Irish accent as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm
Mike East:

I really like the free-ness in your form, David.
  11:10pm

It's almost a challenge word, like "Let me tell you somethin', boyo ..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm

sounds like something I'd say.

  11:28pm
Carmichael:

This set is kinda Ireney, but not quite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm
mariano:

@coelacanth: Ugh. Just had a call with them today, their director, with the aesthetics of a businessman, decided he wants to keep their original one that's basically a cheap clip art of the Brooklyn Bridge, except now he wants the text to be blue and the bridge gold, so it look like the name of a sports bar in South Bend. Thanks for asking though, will hopefully recycle/repurpose the work in some future project.
  11:29pm
JakeGould:

@earfering: Yeah, the Captain disintegrating himself to escape the pain on the bridge was such a clear ploy for sympathy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30pm

Irene gets Ireney sometimes.

luh3417:

gosh this track is spooky. very John Cagesque.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm

  11:44pm
Carmichael:

No tribbles, no trek. That's how I look at it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm
coelacanth:

i'm not so surprised. i still like the original star trek though. fairly blaze' about everything since.

Ken From Hyde Park:

Good evening, David and inner ear tourists.
  11:47pm
JakeGould:

@MikeEast: The second they showed someone on the Enterprise crew doing a roundhouse kick to hurt something, I was gone.

@coelacanth: That quote is from Chekov in “Wrath of Khan” when they put those bugs in his hear—and his captain’s ear—to control them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm
Mike East:

some great choices you're making here.
Though I just discovered my right speaker was knocked over this whole time so I've only been listening to one channel....may have to re-listen to the archive to hear what I missed.
