It's not that I want to die, but I feel overwhelmed by the feeling that there is no place safe. This is exactly the sort of man who killed almost all my family before I was born, and I am not exaggerating—the only reasons he is probably not going to do that to many people within our borders are that his power probably won't be absolute (though the purge from the military of people willing to disobey illegal orders will start soon) and he just doesn't feel like killing a bunch of 'fake Americans' yet.

(You really think I'm being over-dramatic…if so, I hope you're right, but to me this seems as real and plain as that wall in front of you, and the fact that this seems not to be the case for so many of my fellow-citizens, that they will not see what is in front of them—or it is, and they _approve_—makes this a problem going far beyond him.)

I think he's much more likely to start mimicking Putin's politics and poses a much greater threat to America domestically than to the rest of the world. That's actually the only consolation, if a grim one: if he really is an isolationist that might give the rest of the world a breather. If you want to know what the future of America looks like, I think you should look at Russia.

OK, too much of a coincidence not to share, apoligies for its length: Yesterday, walking down 42nd st I saw a single playing card on the ground and took a pic. It was the Jack of Hearts. I sent it to my brother in law who is a big Dylan fan. I mentioned I heard "You're a Big Girl Now" on Shrunken Planet last weekend and that I was to re-listen to Blood on the Tracks...Jack of Hearts is a track on that album as well. My bro-in-law is a Trump supporter and I was trying to send something benign and non-political to counteract the FB posts that my wife has been sharing with me. Later that night, getting out of a cab driven by a Trump supporter who told me he heard Hillary was losing, I got a text from my bro-in-law that his son shoved a deck of cards in his face and said, pick a card, any card....he selected the Jack of Hearts. @Fuzzy: Agreed. In the end, each party base had their favored candidate: Trump and Sanders. The elite of the GOP, despite their best efforts, couldn't overcome the will of their primary voters. The DNC, however, did ram Clinton through. And, in the end, the will of the people was heard yesterday.

For what it's worth, I de-registered as a Democrat this past summer because of this mess.
