For example, did you see any footage of the South Koreans protesting the corruption of their president? Singing or chanting in unison, standing in orderly rows, holding candles and flashlights. I think at some points, they just stood together in silence--a calm and serious protest.
	5:48pm ifny: It bears repeating, this is a great fucking show. And besides the wonderful efforts of our host, part of the reason I feel this way is the comment section.
	5:53pm ifny: @Alex news doesn't always travel far. For example, there was a lot of stuff going during the Olympics and Occupy. And riots is often a characterisation by the State anyway, right? It has a certain set of connotations. It is also one tactic among many. And it's often ephemeral (which has specific limitations and strengths). On a related note, sometimes people, especially in Indigeneous circles, talk about being 'land defenders' rather than 'protestors' -- it's a different praxis, though sometimes objectives may be similar/complementary.

For example, did you see any footage of the South Koreans protesting the corruption of their president? Singing or chanting in unison, standing in orderly rows, holding candles and flashlights. I think at some points, they just stood together in silence--a calm and serious protest.
	5:48pm ifny: It bears repeating, this is a great fucking show. And besides the wonderful efforts of our host, part of the reason I feel this way is the comment section.
	5:53pm ifny: @Alex news doesn't always travel far. For example, there was a lot of stuff going during the Olympics and Occupy. And riots is often a characterisation by the State anyway, right? It has a certain set of connotations. It is also one tactic among many. And it's often ephemeral (which has specific limitations and strengths). On a related note, sometimes people, especially in Indigeneous circles, talk about being 'land defenders' rather than 'protestors' -- it's a different praxis, though sometimes objectives may be similar/complementary.
