Anyplace selling the nacho cheese that's laced with botulism? Or is that just some lone gas station that does that?

i've made beer quite often. it's ready in a couple of weeks - do it again jim - go to leeers.com for supplies. it's actually cheaper to just buy cheap beer, but if you want a stout or something just make it.

There's a brewery here in Toronto called Left Field that makes a very tasty stout called "Eephus" (inspired by the seldom thrown pitch of the same name it says on the bottle) that's really good

Eugene R.:

Cooperstown Brewery makes a lot of baseball-themed beers (imagine that!). The Bench-Warmer Porter is a good one. They also have Pop-Fly sodas (cream soda and root beer).

brewery outside of cooperstown is called ommegang - he must be talking about a different place, ommegang is decent.

Jim. Dude. That beer with marshmallow in it isn't anything the Departed Soles brewery does all the time - it was a special Easter-themed beer they did a limited batch of.

It was a neat trick - incorporating some marshmallow in a way which made sense to the palate and didn't actually suck - but it isn't their usual deal.

I recommend stopping by the brewery during some of the hours their public drinkery is open - it's just a few blocks from the radio station.

It's clear that making beer is difficult because Budweiser has been brewing beer for 300 yrs and it still sucks

John Sterling and George Noory are great examples of inertia in commercial radio.

brewing beer is easy. making wine is a bit tougher.
  6:29pm
Listener Robert:

Really, dale? I've been making apple wine (cider), and I'm assured making ales or other grain-based ferments like sake, is more involved.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
dale:

there's just a lot more that can go wrong with wine. beer is pretty predictable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm
pinholga:

Kansas City's team name comes from the American Royal livestock show.
  6:35pm
Listener Robert:

I haven't had anything go wrong with my ciders, of which I've made about 8 batches by now. What can go wrong?

BTW, I'd love to make sake, but I also prefer the taste of beer (or ales generally) to that of wines. I'm told groot is easier than most ales. But either groot or sake would require a good deal of work to make the mash from their respective grains; isn't there at least as much that could go wrong there as in winemaking?

Camping at Brewery Ommegang is pretty fun!
