What was your "gateway" show to WFMU? What was the first show that made you a fan? For me, it was Fool's Paradise. I was driving through Elizabeth NJ, and was scanning the FM dial when I heard this amazing jazzy R&B piece. I had to hear more, so I stopped scanning and listened....

I used to scan the net for audio samples to mess into tunes I was working on yonks ago- I found a file that sounded like two women singing "loving brains" , that was somehow linked to WFMU , to this day I dunno what It is but I wrote a whole tune around it and at same time found Billllly foookin Jam da man goddamn it.

I read about WFMU in '98, in The Wire, when I was still an undergrad. My first jobby job had enough bandwidth to stream wfmu, so, when I was at the last person at the office, I tapped into the tinny stream of Donna's Gateway to Joy, and I've been hooked ever since. I've been lucky to play at WFMU a few times.
