How is Master Schulkind?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
KimSorise:

That’s awesome NGH - I actually started a CD project (pairing it down extensively and filing in large books with all the paperwork) I need to get back to it. I have about 5,000 CDs - it’s taken longer than I expected. But much more efficient

@Kim: My car I bought last summer had a cd player that plays cdrs that are 20+years old, so, I'm listening to all of my cds as a abecedarian. (started in August). Some of the cdrs I haven't been able to listen to in almost 15 years, as I didn't have cd player that could play them)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm
KimSorise:

That’s even better, NGH!

My parents now have a car w/no CD player, just a USB port and Bluetooth. Getting music onto their phones or a thumb drive is beyond them. They're perturbed that they can't play the CDs and CD-Rs I've burned for them over the years.

KimSorise:

I luckily still have a CD/Cassette in my car. It’s been excellent with all of these new Cassette mixes that have been emerging.

My car has an aux jack, so, I can listen to wfmu on road trips.

The last few years in NYC, most people's cars I drove had blue tooth. But I'm more then ecstatic to have a very capable cd player. I should figure out a way to record the cdrs.

Doctorjazz:

It's all going that way... My car still has a CD player, but no aux in only Bluetooth or a USB port that I haven't been able to get to work. Newer cars are ditching cd.

half of my mix tapes and master tapes got trashed when I put them outside my old apt a few years ago while doing spring cleaning. Unfortunately, the new owners of the building hired people that thought a box of tapes and reels of tape was trash. I found them missing w/in a hour of putting them out, but the workers had no idea where they were, and even digging through the building's trash turned up nothing.

off to pick up my laundry in 5 minutes, thanks Kim!

You’re welcome! Just had a lesson today with my freshman about what makes a great mixtape. They have an assignment to make me one representing a coming of age theme or event in their lives
