Hello! Sorry to see you're not on the new schedule. Hope to hear more fill-ins. One of the best stopgap program ever, along with Bronwyn C.'s Pig Talk! I hope the fall schedule has all the Bronwyns and all the Jonathans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm
Devin B.:

Really enjoyed the last few weeks of your show, Jonathan. Hope to see you on the schedule again soon!

(The other Jonathan being Jonathan Herweg of course, also excellent: www.wfmu.org... )

:)
  3:23pm
Jonathan:

I dunno, pigs talking is pretty cool.

Thanks for the great start to the set this afternoon! Both Haden's "For Turiya" and "Alla L'aa Ke" are compositions I know from other recordings / renditions, although both of these very nice versions are new to me. Digging the plucked strings connection weaving all these pieces together this afternoon.

Heya Jonathan and listeners. Been getting my fill of Williger in the last week or so!

Thanks Ben and Carmichael, and Will! Nick, there's a big gap of time in there, but I've had fun doing all of it. Enjoy.

Makes me thirsty for a jinn and tonic.
  3:46pm
JakeGould:

Is there anything any WFMU DJ plays that does not inspire someone to drink or smoke up?
  3:46pm
Jonathan:

I would hope my show generally inspires the latter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm
Devin B.:

All music is stoner music
  3:53pm
Jonathan:

Glad we know what mics are being used so we can recreate this sometime.
  3:53pm
Morphe:

Jake: I was told that when Kenny G. was on the air..numerous listeners gave up on the station and all sorts of chemicals and only listened to QXR whilst sipping Earl Grey and talking to their mothers?? That could be FMU apocrypha,???????
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm
Devin B.:

Lol - is that La Monte speaking?

Rev. Turnip Druid:

Who has carrot cake?
Avatar 4:04pm

At first I thought βrian said "djinn and tonic" and I wondered what kind of hallucinations drinking a djinn would cause.
Avatar 4:04pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I'll have what he's having.
Avatar 4:15pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Also, what they are having.
Avatar 4:19pm
Carmichael:

Djinn and tonic is a drink the folks from Wooden Shjips might enjoy.
Avatar 4:26pm
βrian:

@ノk乇: djinn = jinn.
  4:30pm
Jonathan:

Ha, I've worked for Wooden Shjips for years, they deserve their own drink, but it would probably have to be dosed with tincture.
Avatar 4:31pm
βrian:

They should've called this track Baby Monitor.

Jonathan, in the 90s Steve Thomsen from Solid Eye and I both sublet studio space from Joe Clower in downtown L.A..
I used to hear him composing/playing on the other side of the wall while I was painting. Wonderful to be reminded of that.

Glad to bring back some memories!
