Mary, again!?! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm

hey since you're only doing a 2 hour show are you going to do a 2oak instead of 3oak?
Avatar 10:17pm
Mary Wing:

Hiya Carmichael! Again and again, now and forever.
Avatar 10:18pm
Mary Wing:

Nope, I'm saving my covers for tomorrow's show, which will be ALL COVERS and NO ORIGINALS!

(i'll probably be working throughout your show tomorrow)

Just had to peek in and see how your nighttime brain operates!
  10:25pm
Carmichael:

What time are you on tomorrow, ol’ standby?
Avatar 10:26pm
Mary Wing:

Hi David, hope your July 4th day (and show) is outstanding!

Mary Wing:

What time am *I* on, Carm? Noon to 3, natch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm

Thanks, Mary! I'm channeling Kenzo for the second half (you'll have to listen to find out what that means) so, 4 hours of peace, love, and noise. Then I jump in the kiddie pool! Best holiday jazz to you and all!
  10:40pm
Carmichael:

Lost track of days. Wednesday, 9-12 PST. I will be there with bells (ding!) on.
  10:40pm
Carmichael:

PDT, make that ...

My nightime brain is mushy, evidently. Can't string 2 sentences together when the mic is on, heh.

Hi Doug! Doing my part to keep the stream percolating! Are you eating lots of feta?

Hi, Mary. Whatever, whenever.
Avatar 10:49pm
Mary Wing:

Hey there, Ken! What are your plans for the holiday?
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 10:54pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Planning to attend the Garbecue, assuming Hudson County has any parking spots available.
Avatar 10:55pm
Mary Wing:

Oh man, it is going to be a ZOO here, tomorrow, make sure you leave very early. There will be streets closed and police checkpoints.
Avatar 10:56pm
Mary Wing:

I'm not even going home, gonna sleep here and avoid the crowds of people.
  11:01pm
Carmichael:

Matt Warwick is curating a bbq? Sounds fun, wish I wasn’t a coast or 2 away.
Avatar 11:06pm
Mary Wing:

He is; got meat ready for grillin' and sparklers for waving.
  11:08pm
Carmichael:

I think he also asked if anyone had lawn darts. Only good can come from that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
coelacanth∅:

hey Mary does it show you who?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm
coelacanth∅:

(played the archive that is)
...and can you tell how many people are listening via the web while your show is on?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm
coelacanth∅:

(inquiring minds want to know)
Avatar 11:14pm
Mary Wing:

Heh, no! It's not like caller ID, coela! It just shows that the archive was clicked on; not even how long it was active.
  11:16pm
Carmichael:

I can see inside your house, coel .... <evil laughter>
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm
coelacanth∅:

okay. well i've listened to your archives a few times; but not nearly as much as i unrealistically plan to.
Avatar 11:17pm
Mary Wing:

If there's a way to see who has clicked on the stream during the actual show, I don't know it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm
coelacanth∅:

Carm can you tell me if there's a package outside the door? ...and is the ceiling leaking in the kitchen?
...i'm not home!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm
coelacanth∅:

...and is there still a mouse getting into the pasta?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm
coelacanth∅:

Mary i feel there must be a way, if it's true that wfmu gets charged for every minute of logged-on time, per computer. (which is what Ken once said during a fund raiser)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm
coelacanth∅:

anyway - just curious.
Avatar 11:21pm
Mary Wing:

yes, I'm sure there is a way; it is probably in the back-end of the tech bits, though.
  11:23pm
Carmichael:

I love this Cat Stevens song! I learned to play guitar to this album. I may have previously mentioned that, about twenty times ...
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 11:25pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

There's a fridge with a freezing compartment at the station, no? The ice cream I'm bringing might get all melty in the broiling sun.
Avatar 11:27pm
Mary Wing:

Yes, I think you mentioned that last week, Carm. I love this Cat album and "Tea For The Tillerman"
Avatar 11:27pm
Mary Wing:

Our mini fridge doesn't have a freezer, no, Ken. I'll happily eat melty ice cream, though!
  11:28pm
Carmichael:

And Teaser and the Firecat.
Avatar 11:28pm
Mary Wing:

Oh, definitely Teaser!!
Avatar 11:30pm
northguineahills:

Winging it (here!)
Avatar 11:31pm

I am pretty sure I know all the words to every song on Teaser, actually.

Hey there, NGH!
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 11:34pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I've got a bunch of ice packs, so I'll pack the cooler full of those and see how it goes.
Avatar 11:36pm
northguineahills:

Anyone know how brains work? Mine's malfunctioning and can't get it ontrack.
  11:37pm
Carmichael:

I’m a fan of melatonin, ngh. Natural bring down for my self induced stress. I can think better.
Avatar 11:39pm
northguineahills:

The problem when I take melatonin, is, after I take some, I sleep four hours and can't get back to sleep.
Avatar 11:41pm
Mary Wing:

If you find something that works, NGH, let me know, because my brain is sliding down into sludge in slow motion.
  11:43pm
Carmichael:

People often don’t want to hear the next step, which is usually Ambien. Will take you through the night without being 100% dead (with a proper dosage).
Avatar 11:45pm
Mary Wing:

Isn't Ambien what Roseanne Barr is blaming for her wack-job tweet?
Avatar 11:46pm
northguineahills:

a dram of scotch (or mezcal) and a pull of certain strains of mj work for me 45 minutes before bed, but that only guarantees 4-6 hours of sleep, and I'd prefer no to be chemically dependant.

@Carmichaell: Oh hell, no! No Ambien Walrus for me, it's a boring substance and doesn't help w/ my sleep (my body chemistry must be weird).
  11:47pm
Carmichael:

Yep, same as Jack Nicholson and the golf club vs car incident.
Avatar 11:47pm
northguineahills:

errr... not to be chemically dependant, (why can't I English!????)
Avatar 11:49pm
northguineahills:

Sade, reminds me of my single days ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm
coelacanth∅:

first time i took ambien it worked quite nicely. 3 subsequent times i didn't sleep at all, or only after 5-6 hours of lying there; or getting up after 1-2 hours, doing stuff and lying down again, exhausted but still not sleeping.
  11:51pm
Carmichael:

I use a very light dose occasionally. I’m somewhere between a light sleeper and non sleeper, and I trust a minute dosage to take me over the edge. But I definitely hear ya, dependency is not a good thing.
Avatar 11:51pm
Mary Wing:

Is Ambien Walrus really a thing, NGH? I thought it was just a T-Shirt.
Avatar 11:53pm
Mary Wing:

Or, rather, a comic from Toothpaste For Dinner: toothpastefordinner.com...
Avatar 11:54pm
northguineahills:

My junior year in college, I worked a doctor's office, and a drug rep came in. After lunch, she told me she hallucinated while taking ambien. So, being the dumbass I am, I picked the lock to the controlled substance (narcotic) medicine cabinet and did some w/ a friend., and was bored stiff. 16 years later, someone gave me some, and it did nothing to me...
  11:54pm
Carmichael:

Wow, Robert Palmer! Way to go, Mary!
Avatar 11:55pm
northguineahills:

@Mary: that's where the meme came from! (don't ask why I know jack shit about pop culture, I sure as hell don't know).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm
coelacanth∅:

often my nighttime meal is 1 capsule/tablet each of: tryptophan; melotonin; niacinamide; b-6; magnesium; ester-c (a little calcium in there); valerian root; skullcap; melissa...then a tiny hit of herb.
Avatar 11:57pm
northguineahills:

This Robert Palmer is so awful is awesome! Obeninade sleep hallucinogen, take me home!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm
coelacanth∅:

(even so i might lie there a while - especially if i didn't take the hit)
Avatar 11:59pm
northguineahills:

no bad effects w/ valerian, but it doesn't do the full job. Maybe if I figure out life, I can sleep normally (I have never slept normally, even as a todler...)
  11:59pm
Carmichael:

Pot keeps me awake. No idea why.
Avatar 12:00am
Mary Wing:

Lately, I stare at the laptop in bed until I can't keep my eyes open anymore. I'll wake up and then have to watch the same youtube clip 3 or 4 times because I keep dozing off in the middle of it, heh.
Avatar 12:01am
northguineahills:

@Carmichael: depends on the strand, some keeps me awake, some puts me out (if I'm sleep deprived). I've found what usually puts me to sleep, I don't usually like doing much unless it's a special occasion.
Avatar 12:03am
northguineahills:

I can't sleep if I'm watching something, doesn't matter if it's the director's cut of Apocolypse now and's it' 3am, and I haven' slept in two days, I'll stay awake until it's done. Wife. She'll be asleep in 15 mins, just like my dad...
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 12:04am
Ken From Hyde Park:

One day, we'll have a chip in our heads that will control when we sleep and wake, and think. Thanks, Mary have a good rest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04am
coelacanth∅:

Carm if i took 2 hits it would keep me awake. one small hit though i don't really get high just relaxed.
Avatar 12:04am
