Hello Mary Wing! With you in New Providence.

Another volunteer wore the same FMU shirt today at work!

Heya Mary, gotta run off to a stoopid meeting, but thought I should wave as I ran out. Be back later. Don't play anything good yet ....

Hello fine people! I am here, in paisley!

Ah, here we go...
Avatar 12:38pm
Mary Wing:

Ike, are you here volunteering today?
Avatar 12:38pm
Mary Wing:

(I suppose I can run upstairs and look, heh)
Avatar 12:44pm
Mary Wing:

Ike is not in the building! Which T-shirt are you takling about?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Webhamster Henry:

Hi Mary, Whatevers. I got my Moondog glow-in-the-dark magnet the other day!
Avatar 1:00pm
Mary Wing:

Sweet! What other swag did you get?
  1:02pm
ike:

No, at my workplace. We're both wearing the suspicious headphone-wearers shirt.
Avatar 1:06pm
Mary Wing:

Heh, nice. I love that shirt.
  1:07pm
ike:

Wow, I didn't expect to hear this particular 90s NSFWer on GTDR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm

I didn't order anything .. but apparently won a prize from Continental Subway!
Avatar 1:17pm
Mary Wing:

No T-shirts, Henry? But why?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm

I have sooo many WFMU T shirts. I'm wearing on in my profile picture! (actually , the simple tilted WFMU chars one is one I don't have)

Happy Humid Wednesday, Jake!

Oy vey… I hate this weather. I like walking during my lunch breaks and after. But it is too damned hot.

Yes, something about the clack in the percussion.

Lactobacillus bulgaricus!

Mmmm… Nothing like yogurt on a disturbingly hot and humid day. Why I might get some yogurt and eat in in the above track area over the 4/5/6 lines to bet a blast of the subway heat as well!
Avatar 1:55pm
Mary Wing:

Heh. The only real food on days like this is ice cream. Lots and lots of ice cream.
Avatar 🛎 1:56pm
βrian:

I dunno. A nice raspberry sorbet can be awfully nice, too.
  2:00pm
JakeGould:

I really like the new fangled ice cream sandwiches out there that have those cake-like cookies on each side. A few different places make a few different versions, but they are my go-to snack when it is utterly vile outside.

This reminds me that I want to make some limoncello, not too sweet, to serve icy cold.

have you seen that show at moma, jake? i think i got my kids interested in attending.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm

she wore a raspberry sorbet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm
Webhamster Henry:

You really need to update the name of "3 of a kind". Maybe borrow DJ Stashu's "Jeszcze raz"?
  2:07pm
JakeGould:

@steveo: Not yet. But will most likely this week. I think staring at a snowman in this heat is a very good use of my time/iife.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm
steveo:

the main problem is that it's out in the courtyard, iirc, where it's likely to be 10 million degrees and 800% humidity
Avatar 2:08pm

Hola steveo! Just in time for 3oak!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm

yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm

@jake also it's hard to get motivated because moma has not posted a closing date for that show. @mary i love 1976 & therefore this song.
Avatar 2:10pm

Thanks for the link, Jake! I might go on Friday to see a snowman in the summer, heh.

100% Whatever fans who want their own talkover bed can get the excellent iOptigan app, curated by Pea Hicks himself. Select the "Movin'!" disk.

That Optigan app has a polka version for Stashu!

JakeGould:

Has anyone seen those colander sculptures in City Hall Park? I’m on the fence on those despite the fact I can see them for free. They just look like some eccentric neighbor’s lawn trash sculptures… And I have seen a lot of those.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm
Spankyflop:

I thought that was Gene Simmons for a second.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm
Webhamster Henry:

@Mary oh yeah. It's a quality piece of work, it keeps all the noise and scratches of authentic Optigan disks, the power switch and transposition wheel, while it also has MIDI controls (!) They even kept its mysterious habit of playing an A diminished instead of an A Major. All 40 sound disks are available, and sequences featuring Mr. Hicks' "Optiganally yours" backing tracks.
Thumbs up!

I just want to say I went to MoMA this past weekend, but because it was raining I couldn’t see the snowman up close. Only through a window.

Then yesterday I FINALLY made it during the day when it wasn’t crazy… BUT THE SNOWMAN WAS TEMPORARILY REMOVED BY THE MUSEUM STAFF!!!
