It seems like good catastrophe songs are a lost art.

JakeGould:

People used to casually joke about catastrophes in a respectful way more than they do now. Maybe if someone could sing about a disaster and a “GoFundMe?”

Tacoma Narrows Bridge hoax? Is Alex Jones guest hosting?

“It didn't take any fancy resonance to bring the bridge down, just a lack of foresight of all the effects that would be at play, cheap construction techniques, and a failure to calculate all the relevant forces.” Makes sense. Those were the days when infrastructure—and children’s amusement—were made by guys who just said, “Let’s do it!”

Myth-busting science by Forbes? Ok, I'll doubt that. It wasn't exactly a myth so much as science reporting at the time, meaning science dumbed down with details glossed over. And it's taught to kids in science class as resonance because resonance is useful and general but flutter? Not so much.
So I claim not a myth but a simple version of science. Like all other science reporting or education.
