Was that the same Paul Jones who covered "Pretty Vacant"?

Ha, yeah that cover is hilarious. Paul Jones was in Manfred Mann in the '60s.

One of my many one-night-stand bands, Goddamn Tractor, covered this Magazine song at a house party. The cops arrived midway through our sublime performance.

Who played the bass? Barry Adamson is fucking awesome

As a matter of fact, I played bass. I am by no stretch of the imagination awesome, bass player-wise.

Never thought of Magazine as post-punk. They rode the punk wave, as I experienced it. Post-punk (category, whatever) arrived with Gang of Four, for me. That was a year later.
  1:42am
Dean:

IOW, cops in any city are not fans of loud music. Their delicate sensibilities can't handle it.
Avatar 1:44am

My pick for the first post-punk album is =Lick My Decals Off, Baby=.

;-)

Dean:

Just goes to show how pliable these categories can be. I myself am wary of any "post-" denominations.
