in 2 weeks world premiere of long awaited "Lesson 4" by Double Dee & Steinski on this show (part 4/final part in series) with co-host Monica Lynch. Next week co host ALF from Oakland where I am this week too - with Joe D back in studios of WFMU in NJ

for today's Hip-Hop History show (45 years condensed into four hours over four weekly shows - hence scratch surface) going back to 80's mainly - this one goes a bit into 90s but not much else is outside of 80's esp the latter 80s as hip-hop evolved into its "golden era" - got some help from Rub DJs - previous show guests - by finally getting round to featuring several tracks off their legendary hip-hop history mixes - edited out some parts of those with their scratching and mixing intact -shout out to all the crew inc Ayers and Eleven (who was guest also on a show remote broadcast from Dublin Ireland)

good suggestions Tall Paul - but due to such time restrictions (a decade in an hour) had to be extremely selective and leave out lots more than I could possibly fit in

Never wishing to slide into the tempting habit of only playing classic era (80’s/90’s) hip-hop on this show normally - have gone the other direction - mostly playing only new 2018 hip-hip each week - which makes this show more fun for me since have not heard this greats in a while - but now am loving them so much kinda want to go back and do more of these type shows - like all posse cuts - a la Tall Paul’s request
