Hard to quantify what makes some music creepy -- Was 6 years old when ELO's 'eldorado' LP came out and SOMETHING about that thing was extremely supernatural wickedness, per the child-brain. Today it def. has a bit of a melancholy vibe, but... ghosty? not sure..

I was *so* easily scared as a kid. The version of "Babes in Toyland" with Oliver and Hardy did such a number on me, but I felt better about it when my dad told me that, when he'd seen it in its original release, it did just the same to him. The spookhouse at Rye Playland (which still stands, in roughly the same form) unnerved me for years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm

I loved Hereditary, but still wondering how I felt about the ending. But that's typical of that studio, ending with "YEP YOU GUESSED IT!", just like "The Witch" (which I also loved)

I'm actually a big fan of Excorcist III. Some goddamn great performances. It was based on a William Peter Blatty novel, and he himself adapted it as a screenplay, and also directed it. The dialouge is fabulous, George C Scott is lovely. It feels so much like a film from the 70's, yet it came out in 1990! And omigosh, Brad Douriff steals the show, as always.

Robert TAbles: No, I wanted to, but I had obligations. I loooove that organ. I heard it play the Imperial March from Star Wars last year, and it was AMAZING. The entire building resonated with bass. It was so incredible.

@ vampyra-ettte -- YES! "Carnival of Souls" is AMAZING!
a friend in high school recommended it highly -- but also that one NOT watch it alone! finally it showed up on late night TV -- TOTALLY creeped me out!!! for years i avoided looking out windows at home after dark -- and would get completely spooked if i did (i grew up in an area where, at the time, there was hardly any outdoor lighting, so except for moonlight, it was DARK outside)
years later, i was in college -- it showed up as a double feature with "Hour of the Wolf" at the Bleecker Street Cinema (i think) -- there was hardly anyone in the audience! but, years later, it was re-released and showing at Film Forum -- and there were lines going down the street!

Anyone been to St. John the Divine's Procession of Ghouls with the classic silent horror film and live church organ accompaniment?

Horrorcore burned bright but briefly. ... For fans of Gravediggaz, Prince Paul also produced a record by a group called Horror City from Hempstead, LI. He put it out for free download 8, 10 years ago, so it must still be out there in the internets. Not bad.

It's great to hear Mike back on the airwaves! If my memory serves me correctly, Mr. Lupika is the one who into introduced 'FMU to Electric Six! Danger Danger and Gay Bar! We are all quite indebted to Mike!
