The Philharmonic Turntable Orchestra | Turntable Orchestration | 2018 | From mid March 2018 recorded live over in Japan the accurately titled Philharmonic Turntable Orchestra featured D-Styles, QBert, Kentaro, Rena (12 year old reigning 2017 DMC World Champ), Mr.Switch, DJ Swamp, DJ Ken-one, Kireek (DJ Yasa/DJ Hi-C), Izoh, Generation, Bahn, Baku, Bori, Bunta, Dom-Auto, Doon, Fummy, Hiroshi, Ina Takayuki, Jifrock, Miyajima, Reiko, Sarasa, Shota,To-Ru, Wa-ta, Yone, and You-ki. Stylishly decked out in tuxedos together this 31 member DJ/turntable orchestra made both classical music history and turntablist music history as the "world’s first turntable orchestra” by performing live a sonically pleasing neu-classical skratch piece. Utliizing as their tools were mixers and Technics 1200's (no laptops) while reconstructing the sounds of eight different classical records that included the first ever 12" Long Playing (LP) vinyl record from 1948; Nathan Milstein and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra’s Mendelssohn Concerto in E Minor. | |||||
