	10:05am Webhamster Henry: The first in the Rimarimba series, 1983’s Below The Horizon, features Robert Cox in exploratory mode, figuring out exactly how to make his music. There’s a pleasure in hearing how he feels out the parameters of his aesthetic, here – there’s a boxy minimalism, slightly clunky and charming with it, that reflects the home-spun, improvisatory tenor of the compositions. It’s ambitious music, though, wanting to do the most and the best it can with its limited resources. Cox himself admits to not being “pre-wired” to making this music, but that only makes it more compelling: “Were I to be properly musical, it wouldn’t actually work as well in some ways; it’d be just another album of contemporary clattery music.” rimarimba.bandcamp.com

There are 8000 Chinese international students on campus and 3000 South Korean students on campus - primarily grad, doc and researchers. It's a huge financial boon to the university and community. There's off campus housing, restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores and services that have opened up in the past 5 years that caters just to international students.

There are definitely some problems with universities utilizing international students as a cash cow business model but there were a lot of cultural positives for such a large population in a smallish midwestern college town in the middle of corn and soy fields.

Full tuition dollars help to fill that gap. Of course, many students are now discouraged from applying from abroad, given the current administration.

There’s a pleasure in hearing how he feels out the parameters of his aesthetic, here – there’s a boxy minimalism, slightly clunky and charming with it, that reflects the home-spun, improvisatory tenor of the compositions. It’s ambitious music, though, wanting to do the most and the best it can with its limited resources. There are 8000 Chinese international students on campus and 3000 South Korean students on campus - primarily grad, doc and researchers. It's a huge financial boon to the university and community. There's off campus housing, restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores and services that have opened up in the past 5 years that caters just to international students.

Full tuition dollars help to fill that gap. Of course, many students are now discouraged from applying from abroad, given the current administration.
