Avatar 4:58pm

that kind of weird transcends the decades.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Lovely arrangement and just the bit of flute it needed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Although which is more unfortunate - Gilbert's street urchin look or Bowie's knitted, one legged body suit? ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Jan - I thought you'd appreciate the flute this week :-)
Avatar 5:01pm
Linda Lee:

no, the jumpsuit was relatively brilliant.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

And then she has to go back to living in the 50s suburbs. I really hope she dropped out :-)
Avatar 5:04pm
Linda Lee:

were these 'studies' just meant to discourage further experiments? i don't think it worked..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Well ... there are those who believe these studies were part of MK-Ultra, and experiments to see if they could control the enemy. I don't know. It certainly kick-started an entire generation tho! ;-)
Avatar 5:07pm
Linda Lee:

i'm sure there was plenty of that sort of thing, sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm
Jan Turkenburg:

The GG!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm

I think that would make a fabulous artist/band name
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ladies and Gentlemen ... The GG! :-)

Jan Turkenburg:

three days in a monestry is just enough (and I can tell ;) )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm

I am terribly late today. Work getting in the way of my Sheena's enjoyment :-/
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Did you do one of those retreat type things?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Hopey - naughty work!! Hello :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Hopey!
Avatar 5:12pm
Linda Lee:

speaking of Bowie, he came straight out of the baroque, no?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

He did indeed! Yes! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm
Hopey Sockmonkey:

Hi Jan! Hi GG! Hi Linda!
Avatar 5:14pm
Rocky Horror:

@DJ GeorgyGirl: I'm glad you like my name. I'm sure your Tim Curry impression was great. Yes I see what you mean about The Searchers song. Even Richard O'Brian would like that one.
Avatar 5:14pm
Linda Lee:

he did love the orchestral instrumentation & the literary depth of narrative.
Hola, Hopey!
Avatar 5:14pm
Carmichael:

I do remember the Lower Third. Put Yourself in My Place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm
Jan Turkenburg:

No. it was avant the whole retreat craze. As a teen I got the unique oppertunity to spend three days with a small group in a monestry that normally hardly opened up. Our teacher was a retired monk. It was actually wonderfull (and the beer was good too ;) ). Nowadays retreat is their core business...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Jan - to be honest that sounds blissful :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

There's a radio series on ... I think ... the BBC ... about artists and their book collections, and the first is Bowie. :-)
Avatar 5:16pm
Rocky Horror:

Well looks like I'm flat baroque
Avatar 5:16pm
Linda Lee:

my goodness, i'm hearing young Bowie in Will Malone's vocal!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

LOL! ;-)
Avatar 5:21pm
geezerette:

Ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Did I mention I love the sound of the sea behind you, yet?
Avatar 5:26pm
Linda Lee:

wasn't 'liquid gold' furniture polish in the UK too?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you :-) I found a lovely video on YouTube of the sea crashing on rocks and thought we all needed an extra bit of harmony :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Possibly polish ... it's certainly a name for a brand of poppers! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm
Hopey Sockmonkey:

I haven't heard anyone mention Bucks Fizz in quite some time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

They were my best friend's favourite band :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I already thought you weren't having a second mic hanging out of your window like Otis ;)
Avatar 5:28pm

Avatar 5:29pm
Hams:

hey, hey, georgy. didn't realize you do two shows in the jungle room. very cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

If I hung a mic out of my window you'd just hear the Friday night student fights ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm
Jan Turkenburg:

that would be a blast!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Hams - hello! Three shows! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm

Annie Haslam did a nice rendition of that as well
