beautiful sounds! hi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm
KimSorise:

Thank you, Linda! Welcome back.
Avatar 7:33pm
Linda Lee:

thank you Kim! :-)

Linda Lee:

already feel i've missed too much. i'll have to check the archives!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm
KimSorise:

It should be up shortly after the show! Our archive wizardress is quick.
Avatar 7:36pm
Linda Lee:

i can see going back to quite a few shows :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
KimSorise:

It will keep you busy for sure, the show has shift over the years as well. But it’s almost fall which means I can bring out the Pentangle and Fairport Convention LPs
Avatar 7:39pm
Linda Lee:

lovely!
it does feel like fall now, especially at night. the mountains cool way down after sundown.
Avatar 7:40pm
Linda Lee:

pretty dramatic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm
KimSorise:

We are still in the 90s in Louisville - 97 tomorrow apparently. I am looking forward to cooler temps for sure. Of which mountains do you speak?
Avatar 7:42pm
Linda Lee:

wow!
i'm in the catskills, new york.
Avatar 7:43pm
Linda Lee:

97! wild! is this pretty normal for you in early September?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
KimSorise:

Well, when I moved here 18 years ago, no. But it is now. We have been losing our Spring and Fall seasons with a quickness. Winters have been more mild, less snow, shorter snaps of cold temps.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm
KimSorise:

Bummer really
Avatar 7:49pm
Linda Lee:

losing spring & fall. yes. we are too. the shifts are quickening.
Avatar 7:50pm
Linda Lee:

*far* less snow for us as well. this isn't a good thing for the metro areas we provide water for, including new york city. our snow is their water.
Avatar 7:53pm
Linda Lee:

it's a pretty astounding thing. it reaches them through a long series of reservoirs and aqueducts, without much chemical treatment at all. beautiful water. so, little development here to keep their water clean.
we're all connected through water in so many ways. that's what snowfall is about, here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm
KimSorise:

I had no idea. And to think, some folks say it’s not really happening. . . Incredible.
Avatar 7:53pm
Linda Lee:

i'm hungry for this kind of music all week long, usually ~ so this is brilliant.
Avatar 7:54pm
Linda Lee:

oh yes. in a rural environment the changes are loud.
Avatar 7:55pm
Linda Lee:

i've only been up here full time 20 years & the changes are clear to me. that's an instant, in earth-time. it's quite incredible
Avatar 7:56pm
Linda Lee:

less than an instant! a nanosecond? :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
coelacanth∅:

greetings Kim and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
KimSorise:

We are 10 Degrees hotter in Louisville than 25 minutes away due to lack of tree canopy. We also have some pretty funky air quality. It is a beautiful city with lots of parks... but it’s facade is fading.

SO very glad you enjoy the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
KimSorise:

Hey Coel - welcome!
Avatar 7:59pm
Linda Lee:

i am for sure.
the facades we've created against what actually sustains us are all fading for sure.
Avatar 8:02pm
Linda Lee:

.. so, the rush to develop alternate realities!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm
KimSorise:

Certainly -
Avatar 8:04pm
Linda Lee:

not a happy topic. best we can do is stay awake to actuality.
Avatar 8:05pm
Linda Lee:

inspired to look at pix of Louisville & it does look very nice, still, from here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm
KimSorise:

Yes, and a couple hours of jazz records a week is a good respite from all the layers of BS
Avatar 8:06pm
Linda Lee:

a nice dose of truth :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
KimSorise:

It is a really great small city. Good food, architecture, parks, museums, solid bands, orchestra, theater, policitally progressivish, good water front... It’s the Possibility City!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
coelacanth∅:

do you think (or do you know if) sphere is named in honor of Thelonious?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm
KimSorise:

But it is also struggling and segregated -
Avatar 8:09pm
Linda Lee:

a bit of a microcosm that way ..? sounds like one good description of the US as a whole.
Avatar 8:10pm
Linda Lee:

why would that refer to Monk, coel? i slow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm
coelacanth∅:

"my town" is in such a bubble that during the last presidential election people laughed when i said i think trump's getting elected. they ALL said there's no way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm
KimSorise:

I don’t think so Coel. It would be nice though.
Monk’s middle name was Sphere
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm
coelacanth∅:

Linda, Sphere was Monk's (really cool) middle name
Avatar 8:16pm
Linda Lee:

beautiful! didn't know that.
i read recently that Trump expected to lose as well.
Avatar 8:19pm
Linda Lee:

might have preferred the loss, even, if he could continue benefiting from notorious popularity. the Presidency is *not* kind to a persons's body or psyche.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm
coelacanth∅:

and Ornette from '66 that i've never heard. how the hell did that happen? (and it's very good!)
Avatar 8:21pm
Linda Lee:

the music is all so good!! brilliant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
coelacanth∅:

well, the only genuinely good human being that's ever been president in my lifetime is still amongst us, at least.
Avatar 8:23pm
Linda Lee:

yes he is!
Avatar 8:25pm
Linda Lee:

oh dear! stream disruption! ack!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm
coelacanth∅:

stream just kicked in Kim
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm
coelacanth∅:

(and it's Iris Dement!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm
coelacanth∅:

we're back
Avatar 8:27pm
Linda Lee:

that was a bit disorienting :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
KimSorise:

Demented - sorry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm
KimSorise:

Heat wave disrupted the interweb
Avatar 8:28pm
Linda Lee:

time for me to hit the kitchen for a meal. see you soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
coelacanth∅:

haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
KimSorise:

Perfect! Enjoy, Linda. Thanks again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
coelacanth∅:

we could do worse than getting demented!
Avatar 8:29pm
Linda Lee:

i'll be listening. thanks Kim!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm
KimSorise:

Far worse... Cheeto in Charge could get another go around because no one thought he could win...ugh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36pm
coelacanth∅:

hellish.
i think what happens is he validates the fear and the selfishness and sickness that's in so many people who are genuinely capable of not being these things; but it's easier and maybe even fun in some perverted way to let that shit fly, now that it seems like it's acceptable.
... just an idea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39pm
coelacanth∅:

...and all these relatively poor people and uneducated people somehow don't see that this administration would and maybe will forsake them in a heartbeat. dumbasses.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm
KimSorise:

I am surrounded by folks who are being boondoggled and will be fucked for a couple of generations due to this shit. It’s infuriating and our governor is an awful excuse of a human, and we have McConnell. Kentucky is a political shitstorm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm
chresti:

The thing with cheeto and the dumbasses is that he convinces them that it's someone else's fault,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm
KimSorise:

Exactly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm
KimSorise:

Anyway - sorry, I have fully enjoyed this show I put together for y’all - no reason to end us on a negative note.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm
chresti:

It's been super , Kim, thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm
coelacanth∅:

haha yeah i didn't want to get into it but something took over!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm
coelacanth∅:

...i can still laugh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm
KimSorise:

Right, always... haha - Laughter is always good and records. Thank you, Coel and Chresti
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm
coelacanth∅:

and yeah i'm not happy the days are getting shorter, which means less work for me; but it also means i can come inside earlier and start catching more of your shows again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm
KimSorise:

That’s not fully awesome, but kind of awesome - you work outside?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm
coelacanth∅:

i do a few things -but yes the main thing right now is landscaping, which i love.
  8:55pm
Tusalava:

Thanks for the McPhee. A little Nation Time was needed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm
coelacanth∅:

Thanks Kim!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
KimSorise:

That’s awesome. I wish I had more time to be in my yard. The heat does make it tough. I have a decent size garden on my inner city lot, and a perennial bed with fig trees and lots of Kentucky golden rod. It’s nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
KimSorise:

I thought so too - Thanks @Tusalava!

Enjoy your evening and week - Miniture Minotaurs is up next!
