Evening, Kim and all!

What the heck, Fred?! That's not on anyone's Christmas list!

And I thought panning for gold in the litter box was bad, sheesh.

Hi Kim and Greasers! Food company on my ride home. Like this Inward Flight...new recording or reissue?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm
KimSorise:

Welcome one and all - it has certainly been a Monday - Jeez. I love that hound, but damn he is hitting a nerve as of late. This extends past Christmas and it’s time to visit the vet. I feel it is a bit of delayed jealous over Caycee - but damn, Fred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm
KimSorise:

Hey DocJazz - It’s new on Jazzman. Came out a few months back.
  7:12pm
Doug Schulkind:

Peace and love, sister Kim! Happy happiness, Greaseteers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm

Love and good tidings, Major Doug. Welcome
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm
doctorjazz:

It's this in stereo? Sounds like a mono muff here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm
chresti:

Hi Grease!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
KimSorise:

HI Chresti -
I am pretty sure it’s stereo, DocJazz. I can’t find anything to the contrary
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm
doctorjazz:

Mono mix...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
doctorjazz:

Not much of a spread, you'd expect the percussion instruments to spread out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
doctorjazz:

No biggie, the music is fine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm
chresti:

What are you listening with? @doc
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm
doctorjazz:

A lot of the time, just my phone (which I put on now). But I was driving, and I connect to the car stereo (which is usually hyper-stereo separation). Sometimes I get the home stereo involved (but my daughter's home on college break, expect complaints when I do...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
doctorjazz:

(I'd member comment when I'm on the phone, of course...I'll turn the speaker system and see how it goes...some folks actually prefer mono mixes...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm
chresti:

You can set it in mono or stereo with the phone app?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm
doctorjazz:

I'd never, they is...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm
doctorjazz:

I don't think there is a mono/stereo setting...i actually don't use the app, I go to the home page, and choose The Drummer Stream on the left of the page.
Avatar 7:55pm
northguineahills:

Love this Oneness of juju album....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
KimSorise:

I do as well @NGH. Welcome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm
chresti:

Eh, the either/or option on the app is only for the mothership station..nevermind! @doc
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm
doctorjazz:

True, you can get the main station in mono (not sure why you'd want to do that...if you're listening via radio waves, and you have poor reception, going mono someone' sometimes helps improve the signal. But on the app, I assume you're always either on phone data or Wi-Fi, so it doesn't actually make sense..).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm
chresti:

That's right, I have to do that with KXLU sometimes
Avatar 8:29pm
fleep:

Lower bit rate for mono, if you pay by the bit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm
doctorjazz:

BST cover,,cool (coming through through in stereo through the living room rig).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm
doctorjazz:

Ahhh, Fleep, mystery solved!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41pm
chresti:

No wonder I run out of data when I'm on the road..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm
doctorjazz:

Now the Roy Haynes IS a reissue (I think if Jazzman as a reissue label). With Booker Ervin...
Avatar 8:53pm

Hey, Huomenta - whenever you show up is fine, as long as you do. Thanks
Avatar 10:35pm

coelacanth: helen of troy is even better even if it was somehow incomplete at the time of release (or whatever maestro Cale said)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm
coelacanth∅:

oh, yeah! i've really liked what i've heard from helen of troy but somehow have not listened to the whole thing
Avatar 10:37pm

KimSorise showing up around 5.30 finnish time (or half five as they would say in england) is a bit late but I am glad I am here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm
KimSorise:

I will take most of Cale in solo form. I love Fear and Helen of Troy - I have always had a fondness for Vintage Violence and Paris 1919 - I got to see him perform Paris 1919 in Brooklyn a few years back. It was cool
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm
coelacanth∅:

...did Cale do drone? he's done some weird, musique concrète stuff but i don't know...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm
ParUbi:

I think he did play with La Monte Young somehow
Avatar 10:41pm
huomenta:

coelacanth: like linux ;) helen of troy will be a rewarding experience if a bit demanding. but for me personally he was a better songwriter post-VU - I know, a potentially wrong opinion, but...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm
coelacanth∅:

i mean -it seems in his wheelhouse right? he droned a lot in vu songs
Avatar 10:42pm

yes he has done his fair share of drone stuff, I am not evennfamiliar with all of it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm
KimSorise:

Yes, They did in the Theater of Eternal Music
Avatar 10:43pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm

i thought getting liquored up was the emergency option

I have realised getting liquored up and writing on a touch screen are not always the best combo there is...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm
