	4:38pm DJ GeorgyGirl: Mainly hob - I think range here tends to mean the whole unit, whereas hob is the ring bit on the top. the burners :-)
	4:39pm Rich in Washington: I always think of Monty Python and The New Gas Cooker sketch and I really want one of those stoves. With the little heater/warmer thing on top.
	4:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl: @Rich - my mum had one with the grill on the top and I used to look watching sardines under the grill. Proper fireworks :-)
	4:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl: They were a nightmare to clean tho
	4:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl: The bit at the top is a grill pan so you make toast and stuff like that :-)
	4:40pm Rich in Washington: Today's breakfast was exceptionally scrummy, but I'm going to have to do a couple extra miles on the treadmill to pay for it.
	4:41pm Rob: @Franco - I did not know it was recorded at the Fairmont. That was where I saw Ella the first time. The Fillmore is still going strong - including the bowl of apples they always have at the top of the stairway to give away.

	4:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl: @Franco - the oil used to catch under the grill flames and pop and flash. I loved watching that :-)

	4:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl: The main thing with the old gas grill pans is that the handles were always slightly rubberised so if you pushed it in too far the handle would melt and warp. lol

	5:06pm Franco Twinkie: Georgy, I just remembered something. There is this Sardinian Restaurant in Noe Valley, a neighborhood in San Francisco that has the best grilled sardines with raw onions that they serve as an appetizer. The real big ones! Not that rinky-dink stuff you get in a can.

	5:12pm Franco Twinkie: Yup. Those giant sardines were a revelation to me as well. When I got home I had to find some. I finally did at a Chinese market. However, preparing them was a stinking mess. I only did it once, Chresti wouldn't touch them!
	5:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl: I saw live cod in an aquarium once and they were enormous - the local chip shop misleads us all!
	5:14pm DJ GeorgyGirl: Why do I do this?? I always talk about chips when it's late of an evening to go and get any. Noooooooooooo.

	5:30pm edelkakao cha cha: then, on a sadder note, when we were having pints with my friend last night, Led Zeppelin (Ramble On from II) came from the pub's sound system and I remembered how I was listening to the particular album in Jan 1985 as we did not have to go to school due to -42C temperature. Weak sunlight coming in through the icy window and Led Zeppelin in all its stereo glory through a a mono turntable. THOSE WERE THE DAYS ( and I do no refer to portable mono turntables)

	5:42pm coelacanth∅: i'm a pretty slow reader too but getting faster. i only started reading fiction around 15 years ago. never finished a single book throughout my schooling, except one tiny strange but true short story book; but i've always read album liner notes voraciously.

	5:06pm Franco Twinkie: Georgy, I just remembered something. There is this Sardinian Restaurant in Noe Valley, a neighborhood in San Francisco that has the best grilled sardines with raw onions that they serve as an appetizer. The real big ones! Not that rinky-dink stuff you get in a can.
