It’s been a ridiculously long day today. I’ll probably pass out shortly unfortunately.
Avatar 10:03pm
Kris Holmes:

Hi Matt, well thanks for being here for however long you can.

Hey Kris 'n' Matt

Matt from New Orleans:

I’m happy to return to “normal” tomorrow but avoiding the bead debris while riding my bike will be fun until we face a few big storms

I was done by noon but was out doing shenanigans at 5 AM

WR:

Tonight it does feel very much that it is a long way home, wherever that is . . . .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm
Little Danny:

I sent off my master CD today. You're ahead of me. Now I'm sorting through the ten billion other emails related to the Marathon and trying to figure out what else I've forgotten.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’ve already made my donation just waiting for the marathon to start to do the split so I can be eligible for prizes.
Avatar 10:21pm
Kris Holmes:

Dude, So. MANY. EMAILS :( It's ridiculous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm
Little Danny:

I know. I keep wanting to email the list asking for some clarity but realize that would be further compounding the problem.
Avatar 10:24pm
Kris Holmes:

ugh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm
Little Danny:

Another Motown 45 that's brand new to me. This is great. I like the hint of the coal-miner beat.
Avatar 10:26pm
Kris Holmes:

cheapie, i think this was $1 at the yard sale on saturday
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’m assuming you bought the bettye swann to sell
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:29pm
WR:

Yes, the fund raising marathon is like a decathlon or obstacle course. I signed up for monthly donation / swag for life so in theory i have nothing to do, but still trying to figure out best steps to support the hosts of shows I regularly listen to. Cannot imagine all the things you are having to respond to.
Avatar 10:29pm
Kris Holmes:

yeah, actually i need to check if my file copy is worn because this one plays pretty great!
Avatar 10:29pm
Kris Holmes:

this 45 is notorious for wearing out & distorting easily
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Styrene?
Avatar 10:31pm
Kris Holmes:

yep :( such a great 45 though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm

Digging the Blakey
Avatar 10:40pm
Kris Holmes:

great scrappy sound to it, live, but so live sounding. i feel like i'm at a table in bird land right now through headphones
Avatar 10:41pm
Kris Holmes:

I'm apparently on a LJT Galaxy 45s kick at the moment
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm
Little Danny:

Ha, abrupt breaks between pts. 1 and 2 of certain 45s always kill my DJ game
Avatar 10:42pm
Kris Holmes:

yeah, that one caught me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm
Little Danny:

Not much time between those solos!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm
Matt from New Orleans:

It’s that the 45 translates Vieux Carrie literally instead of saying French Quarter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm
Matt from New Orleans:

It’s funny
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’m too tired to fix all my typos/autocorrects
Avatar 10:50pm
Kris Holmes:

translated as "Old Square" on the label lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm
Matt from New Orleans:

This could use some Hammond
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm

He DOES sound like Lou Rawls, you're right!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:33pm

It seems you are mostly playing recent acquisitions. I'm amazed that you are able to find all these at reasonable prices.
Avatar 11:35pm
Kris Holmes:

yeah, a bunch of stuff that's come in the last couple of weeks, not many of them will find their way into my collection, most will go direct to the sales boxes.
Avatar 11:39pm

Had interesting day, two parts shite, one part good (fractionally). Haven't had time to hit woofmoo in 32 hours. Kris make it back to 50/50 before sleep hits (assuming sleep happens). Oh, and thanks Kris!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:41pm
WR:

Damn, NGH, sorry to hear that.
Avatar 11:41pm
Kris Holmes:

Sorry your day wasn't 100% good
Avatar 11:45pm
northguineahills:

16 mins could get it to 67% good! (still taking the long way home, still figuring where that may be, ahhhh… wfmu!)
Avatar 11:48pm
northguineahills:

oddly enough, I'm waiting for a freelance check from San Antonio, to help pay to the bumper that got knocked off by a hoserino when I was parked on the street.
Avatar 11:49pm
Kris Holmes:

i hope San Antonio comes through
Avatar 11:51pm
northguineahills:

(that waspart of my day, but I had multiple positive job interviews). I was actually digging online to fill my cumbia void a few hours earlier, as my music collection is 3 hours away...
Avatar 11:53pm
Kris Holmes:

fingers crossed on the jobs
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:59pm
WR:

NGH, there will be a major woof moo celebration when you find suitable employment, until then we're here for you in spirit. If that makes sense.
Avatar 12:00am
northguineahills:

true, WR, gracias!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:00am

Thank you Kris for this evening's soundtrack.
