Hi, Bethany! And apparently goodbye to -Ken's nudie shot now that we're days away from the goal. Probably saving it up for a big surprise, like on a billboard.

speaking of online cookbooks: the hangover food recipe no.1 (not mine): bake french fries and heat up a can of pea soup... and pour the soup (the thicker the better) over the fries when both are ready to serve. sounds awful! and tastes awful....ly good!

...reading these short stories by Delmore Schwartz. Odd that fiction feels so needed now, at a time when we're roiling beneath a tsunami of fictions. Go figure. ps thx for all you do @FMU

@Photocopy Cha Cha: Pea Soup Poutine?
  8:41pm
Dean:

Did I just miss an entire Bruckner 3? Who conducted? Orchestra?
Avatar 8:42pm
Photocopy Cha Cha:

@8:37 p20: not quite: no gravy or cheese curds. Pea Soup Poutine sounds delicious and like real food, but just to mix canned pea soup with fries is simple trash - but oh so delicious as well (and also vegan friendly should you be able to find vegan pea soup)

really should use the time to get into s.barber's music, I have surprisingly few listening experiences with his music.

@PCC: I thought the soup was taking the place of the gravy. But yeah, it's not poutine without cheese curds.

If that was the recent-ish DG recording, though, it was the 1889 version.

I think I know what I'm making for dinner tomorrow: Vegetarian Poutine = French Fries+Pea Soup+Cheese Curds. How could that be bad? (Thanks PCC for the inspiration)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm
mariano:

Well I suppose it's no different from putting gravy on fries. I can see it being good. Though I'd opt for the carnivore version, with cubes of ham or bacon.
Avatar 8:55pm
Bethany Ryker:

@Dean, yep, you're right. You might not have heard me say my bit on-air that Bruckner revised the 3rd symphony (and many others). We did in fact hear the revised version in the recording.
  8:56pm
Dean:

Yeah, he was (in)famous for the revisions, many prompted not necessarily by his own musical instincts.
Avatar 8:56pm

@mariano: OK, you can have all the cubes. I only eat icosahedra.
