None of the Chinese restaurants near me (in Bay Ridge) are open again. A few laundromats have reopened with restricted hours and no drop off; do your own laundry, fold and leave.

The thing is there is definitely anti-Asian backlash that exists. And nobody wants to deal with that. Also, if your business has a special deal with the landlord — like you yourself own the building or they are nice and not charging rent for your storefront while closed — there is no reason to rush things.

Honestly, nobody is going to get the volume back to normal any time soon. And restaurants are all about volume.

Wow Sem! Sea scallops are $15-20/lb here. I had some of my best seafood in NS back in the early 80s. "Queen" crab off the boat $1/lb. Lobster sandwiches( before they were a thing below NE) -$1.50

@kevinfromBayRidge: I distinctly recall $6 a dozen for lobster, but somewhat farther back in time. I might have been in utero, in fact.

"As Gabby, he appeared in more than 40 films between 1939 and 1946, usually with Roy Rogers (44 times), but also with Gene Autry (7) and Wild Bill Elliott (14), often working under the directorship of Joseph Kane (34).

Hayes was also repeatedly cast as a sidekick of the Western stars Randolph Scott (six times) and John Wayne (15 times, some as straight or villainous characters)." via wikithingy

I found a little baby turtle in the yard Sunday. For a moment, I thought about keeping it, at least for a while, then decided to bring it to the creek. Figured out later it was a snapping turtle. Yowza!
Thanks, Mary and have a happy whatever.

I once held a baby gator.. it was kept cool so tourists could hold it without the poor creature noticing it.

@Stanley, I'm a vegetarian, but Kate's first Scotland seafood extravaganza was in Leith! A friend took us. Ewen Bremner walked by while I was having a smoke, and I managed to realize it in time to shout "Hibs boy! Top boy!" as he rounded the corner.

That was 2009 ... though I think I recognized the place when we were in Leith last year.
