OMG, DO NOT send leafblowers to Queens! Here in the NE part of the borough (which may as well be the 'burbs, no subways, you have to take a bus to the 7 train) they are practically non-stop, 7 days a week. It's either the endless landscaping crews who stand there for an hour blowing leaves around (even if there aren't any) or the apparently-deaf homeowners who have their own blowers or lawnmowers, & start doing their own lawns at 8:30 on a weekend. It's like half the neighborhood is deaf...I don't know how people deal with the noise (& our development still has those guys come every week...for some reason during this time that's still an "essential service").

This is one of the primo Paul Carrack moments, even if it's sort of "Tempted 2.0" - I guess if the song is that good it can absorb any number of permutations.

@DG, I came across a list of LPs that were sort of destroyed from within. Cale chucked out all their songs and told them to write new ones. I mean, crazy shit like that.

Yeah, the Difford & Tilbrook album was disappointing & pretty dull, although I thought "Hope Fell Down" was great & some soul/R&B singer could've had a hit w/it. "Man for All Seasons" is good too, but the rest of the album is this weird mix of experimental, disco, R&B...I don't know what they were trying to do. I saw them at the Ritz when it came out, don't remember it being that great (although yeah, I think they did do "Band of Gold"!).

When Groove Approved came out they had the record release party at a studio in SF (Hyde St? maybe) with Carrack doing tracks on piano. However the same night Virgin was hosting the debut of an up and coming rnr'er named Lenny Kravitz at DNA.
