Good afternoon Irene, hello one and all. Gorgeous weather here in Claverham, sat in the garden with the laptop along with cold beer and a tasty BBQ which will be cooking whilst this awesome show cooks on all gas!

Hi elisa, Dean and Rick! I started listening to radio back in the 1970's, when freeform radio ruled the radio stations I listened to. I keep that tradition with me.

Stanley:

Hi Irene and listeners.
I just tuned in on the internet and as I was turning up the volume, there was this gurgling sound and I thought yep, that's WFMU. I had to do a double take to realise simultaneously it was your show, so was surprised by the gurgling and damn, the bloody drains are blocked and upstairs bath water is backing up. Oh happy day!
Avatar 12:52pm

Irene, I know a quite different sounding Hunting the Wren by Robin Williamson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm
Irene Trudel:

Sean, here's a couple of photos from early April taken out my UWS window during "Rush Hour." It's gotten a little busier lately but still rather quiet. The ride home from the Long Island Beach took just an hoiur, which is usually unheard of! flic.kr... flic.kr...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
Irene Trudel:

Hi Henry and Stanley! Yes, the gurgling was all mine.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:53pm

Oh Stanley, hope it is reasonably resolved.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Stanley: i'm laughing because i've had moments where i truly couldn't tell if what i was hearing was WFMU or some other phenomenon!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
Stanley:

Thanks WR. I know I have some time as the bath water is just gurgling and not yet over flowing into my bath. I've been here before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
Irene Trudel:

Oops! Didn't read your whole post, Stanley. Hope it isn't too bad for you to fix!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

With a weather theme here on the commenters list I would love the irony that we might have a rather fine summer here in the UK with what is going on at the moment. We are pretty obsessed with weather here in this parts. I am sure most of our fine listeners have maybe headed east to the UK but if anyone is planning a trip next year and you want to strike up a conversation, start with the weather and in minutes you will lose the will to live!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm
Stanley:

That's abosolutely right Granny. I remember on one occasion something happened to the stream and it was maybe five minutes before I realised was a fault and not some industrial/drone noise piece being played.

It is indeed "My Goals Beyond," no apostrophe, although some reissues do mistakenly use it. Pardon the name-dropping, but John McLaughlin told me that himself. (P.S.: Thanks for letting me help you program today's show!)

@ Peter K: interesting. I played a track from that album recently and was looking back at the covers, and it seems vice-versa on the apostrophe. Makes sense either way to me. Interesting how the Ryko cover I was familiar with is so different from the original...
