Listener comments!

  11:28am
Listener Robert:

Saturday I heard Stephanie Joyner of the Skylands Songwriters Guild perform some of her country and bluegrass compositions solo at Wild West City. I recommend her and wonder if others here have heard her. She plays at least guitar and mandolin, and at least country, jazz, and classical; I forgot how many other genres she rattled off to me.
  11:30am
Listener Robert:

I forgot to mention that she sings to them too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am
Irene Trudel:

That sounds cool, Robert! I'll check her out after today's show, which will be mostly jazz in honor of the Newport festival (and other outdoor music) that I would've normally attended this past weekend.
  11:34am
Listener Robert:

I see she doesn't match any of the profiles I just found by that name on SoundCloud, and she may not have ever recorded a single note.

Hey Irene, Hello one and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am
Irene Trudel:

Welcome to my little festival, Sean! Robert, if you find a link, let me know.
  11:59am
Listener Robert:

I know it's not your style, but it would be fun if you "introduced the performers to the stage" today.

Hello Irene, trust the stitches are out and everything is hunky dory.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm
listener james from westwood:

Afternoon, Irene and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm

Festival in Irene's head! Someone make sure to sweep up the popcorn when this thing is over!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Irene Trudel:

Good Afternoon to you, Brian, james and Doug!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

The great thing is that I have a great seat and I don't have to look over heads or shoved to the side while some lout barges their way to the front of the stage!

Greetings, Irene and WFMU pals

Will there be some kind of 'going electric' kerfuffle?
Avatar 🥁 12:13pm
βrian:

We'll just let the chickens in for a few minutes, and the popcorn will vanish.
  12:15pm
Listener Robert:

I don't know how Ms. Trudel would feel about chickens in her head. But maybe it's better than holding a vacuum hose onto your ear.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

Listener Robert, would that be a good way of removing ear wax?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm
Irene Trudel:

You got that right, Sean! I am short in stature and always have the annoying big guys stand right in front of me. Greetings Mx. Granny, Leonardo and βrian. That "electric" kerfuffle is tagged to the folk festival. Jazz seems a bit freer generally (although not able to avoid its own kerfuffles over time).

Django always makes me feel nervous, cuz I'm way behind on my tables, and people are pouring in the door, and this is the 12th time that track has looped today.

Oh well.
  12:30pm
Leonardo:

Oh yes, jazz. Hmm...maybe Chuck Berry turning up and rocking out.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

Please forgive me dear listeners but I have run out of superlatives on how awesome and dear to my heart this show is. So this is a new world superlative, Irene is Queen Elizabeth 1 and I am Walter Raleigh. 'Majesty, I bring a potato from the new world to go along with the one I bought over a few weeks ago, may I suggest before you remove my head I mash up said potatoes and I can reach out to a shepherd I know who can put some of his produce and we can create a pie in your honour, not sure what we can call it though. I might be off kilter here ut this pie is in your honour, ma'am' Again profuse apologies for my slightly Pyhtonesque ramblings!

so after a marvellous BBQ its time to take my love of my life out for a walk, of course I will be still tuned via the awesome WFMU app but the pup in question is the picture of my avatar. So this got me thinking, I was wondering what names you add on to your pets? Lola is her monica but my add lib names are schibbly (School of Rock for that one), bo-boos, fruit bat and plum tucket! over to you Irene, you must have a few plus over to the rest of you awesome listeners. I know, not music themed but it will be fun to find out

Last pet themed comment. Lola has a Mets coat which I swear she isn't keen on, it's blue, not her colour plus a Mets squeaky baseball called 'baba baseball' plus those really annoying magnets you see on cars, mine is 'my dog is a Mets fan' and 'bark for the Mets'. You can imagine the puzzled looks here in England!!
