Was that Angel the same Angel that had the cool logo that you could read either upside down or rightside up?
Avatar 3:15pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Dizzy Mans Band! Their best one, I think.

Hey Jan! Hope everything is well in the Netherlands!
Avatar 3:21pm

Hey, our pleasure! And Jan - the Dutch really knew how to Glam! We play a lot of Dutch stuff!

@Mr. Fab: Thanks for giving Double Dip Recess a new home on Sheena's!

The Glammed

Mr Fab:

zivilars, yes I heard Roger made the announcement today. And we’ll have another Saturday show joining us too. Stay tuned!

Cheree July:

That Grand Concourse record was produced by KF?
Avatar 3:39pm
zivilars:

@Mr Fab: Saturdays and Sundays still have DJ show room to grow, so this was great news ... If you ever manage to also get Bill Kelly's "Teenage Wasteland" back, I'd probably light a candle in the church for you, but I guess the end of his show on main WFMU was caused by that he couldn't/wouldn't broadcast from home, so Sheena's probably not the right new home for him
Avatar 3:39pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Yes. Kim Fowley!
Avatar 3:39pm
zivilars:

I'm simply still sad that "Teenage Wasteland" seems to be gone for good – was one of my favorite shows and introduced me to WFMU
Avatar 3:44pm
Mr Fab:

Oh yeah, “Teenage Wasteland” was such a great show for a weekend afternoon. I would take my kid to the park, and rock to it on my headphones. Didn't realize he was off because he didnt want to deal with the tech issues. But not surprising, it can be a bit of a hassle.
Avatar 3:47pm
zivilars:

@Mr. Fab: I exchanged a few mails with him and he explained it to me like that (at least if I understood him correctly) - and said that, although he would come back anytime, if he's not back for next season (the one starting on Monday), "Teenage Wasteland" will probably be history. Breaks my heart – although Suzy Hotrod's show is amazing, too, there would be room for both

BZN, from their best album The Bastard
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm

I see that Frank Reemer was a member of radar, he made a peculiar one sided concept LP, which i own and ... I believe .... yes, I played a track recently...

Jan, was this type of music really popular in UK/Europe (or at least in the Netherlands?) Because I had idea so much of it existed.
Avatar 4:10pm
Kitten Sparkles:

This is a great one - Tootsie Roll Baby! And it's a B side!
Avatar 4:10pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Hey, Chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, this was really popular for a few years. A lot of bands that we're know for other styles did some glamrock stuff in those days too.
Avatar 4:13pm
Jan in the Pan:

Love this over the top Manson family exploitation flick!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm

To me in those days it seemed typical British: The Sweet, Mud, Bay City Rollers and only later I realised there was a lot of Dutch stuff made too
