I like the fact that the WFMU tributes to Van Halen that I have heard have involved no songs actually performed by Van Halen. Pseu played a Richard Cheese cover of "Hot for Teacher". So far, I've heard more tributes to Helen Reddy and Mac Davis than I have heard to Eddie Van Halen.

Avarice by George Herbert

Money, thou bane of bliss and source of woe,
Whence com'st thou, that thou art so fresh and fine?
I know thy parentage is base and low:
Man found thee poor and dirty in a mine.
Surely thou didst so little contribute
To this great kingdom which thou now hast got,
That he was fain, when thou wert destitute,
To dig thee out of thy dark cave and grot:
Thus forcing thee, by fire he made thee bright:
Nay, thou hast got the face of man; for we
Have with our stamp and seal transferred our right:
Thou art the man, and man but dross to thee.
Man calleth thee his wealth, who made thee rich,
And while he digs thee out, falls in the ditch.

I have to explore by my own nature. Doesn't matter if it's an urban block, restaurant, store, trail, city, town, I've never been to. (I walked every block-face in Manhattan, 70% of Brooklyn, 40% of Queens, 30% of the Bronx, and only 2% of Staten Island.

@rw Doing alright and staying afloat. Started to work again on more of an on call basis, but that’s better than nothing! It’s nice to get out of the house.
Trying to figure out what’s next, but that’s so hard to do right now. On the plus side I have plenty of time for personal projects.

New Yorkers, check out these political endorsements:
twitter.com...
NY is WEIRD: it is the only state where candidates run on multiple party lines. Cuomo hates progressives, esp. Working Families, which usually endorses progressives Democrats, and he is trying to destroy it by raising the number of votes for WF to retain its ballot line. So if you're voting Biden/Harris, please vote for them on the WF ballot line. It'll count just as much towards them as it would on the Dem line (again, NY is weird).

When I moved from NYC back to VA in 1980 so many people said to me "I know that music you like, it's Lene Lovich, right?" *L* (I moved back to NYC)
