Someone’s organized tonight. Happy to be back listening to WFMU. Hurricane Zeta put a damper in my listening last week.

Matt from New Orleans:

What’s the deal with the filing on the last one? Is Appleton not the last name?
Avatar 10:13pm
Kris Holmes:

It's a group & also about to be refiled in the rock boxes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Fair enough
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm

I knew the name sounded familiar. It’s from an old cartoon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Are you going to buy the LP comp of the entire singles releases from Gospel Truth from Craft Recordings?
Avatar 10:22pm
Kris Holmes:

I don't think so. I'm more of a pick & choose kinda guy rather than a completist
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm
coelacanth∅:

greetings Kris and all
Avatar 10:28pm
Kris Holmes:

Hi there Coel!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Danny was having a phantom static too a month or so ago but his sounded different from what I can remember? He never figured it out and then was gone the next week.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
Candy-O'67:

She e-mailed it to me this afternoon also, Kris :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Misa is hustling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm
coelacanth∅:

i think i remember Danny's. it sounded like a damaged cable or plug. this is unusual.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm
coelacanth∅:

this is pretty, for a sad song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm

The peanut butter chocolate Rice Krispie treats sound good. I’ll have to email Misa to see how much the postage will be.

Avatar 11:16pm
Kris Holmes:

I think Hilary was robbed somehow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I forgot about this one. I’m more familiar with The Cruisers earlier sides which were straight Doo Wop.
Avatar 11:22pm
Kris Holmes:

it's a nice side
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Their song Guilty with Herb Johnson is a classic Popcorn side. Heard it pitched it Belgium in the late 90s and was like I know this song as my dad used to play it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I saw that Crystals song performed on Broadway as a kid when I went to see Leader of the Pack. It was a jukebox musical that told Ellie Greenwich’s story through her music. I think it was one of the first jukebox musicals.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Darlene Love was one of the performers in the show. I got her autograph. She was really nice.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:32pm
Candy-O'67:

I love Darlene Love!
Avatar 11:32pm
Kris Holmes:

Darlene Love seems like she's super cool
Avatar 11:35pm
Kris Holmes:

which Cymande do I not play Matt?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm
Matt from New Orleans:

She clearly played herself. Jazmine Guy from A Different World was in it. When that show first came on the air, I recognized her but never figured it out till years later on the Internet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’d prefer not The Message or Brother on The Slide
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39pm
Matt from New Orleans:

You ignored me I see
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Just kidding
Avatar 11:41pm
Kris Holmes:

Wait? Bra is Brother On The Slide?
Avatar 11:42pm
Kris Holmes:

I have this & The Message & I chose this since you said not The Message
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm
Matt from New Orleans:

It’s not. Brothers On The Slide is a separate song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Well worth owning
Avatar 11:42pm
Kris Holmes:

Been so long since I listened to the album!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Brothers is on the third album
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I saw Cymande. Great show. They released an album in 2015.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Not my fave TBH
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Thankfully when I saw them it was almost entirely old stuff
Avatar 11:46pm
Kris Holmes:

Third album I've never filed, patchy. 2015 album must not have made an impression since I only have the vaguest recollection
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’m surprised there was an American answer record to Prince Buster
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm
Matt from New Orleans:

There’s a answer record called Ten Commandments of Woman by Little Norma released in 66 as well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Thanks Kris
Avatar 11:54pm
Kris Holmes:

That was an answer record or the original?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:54pm
Candy-O'67:

Thanks, Kris, for another fab night!
Avatar 11:55pm
Kris Holmes:

Thanks team
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56pm
