Work is complete for the week, heading in to bake my cranberry pie! Thanksgiving dinner shopping was relatively painless yesterday evening. The big Safeway had a lot of folks shopping but the checkouts moved fast -- I only had one person in line in front of me and he was almost completely rung up. Had to stop at a couple other smaller markets to locate a hard-to-find item and there limited shoppers and cashiers with folded arms at the registers waiting for customers.

Stanley, oddly, I make very few with whisky! I drink the good stuff neat and the less good stuff on the rocks. But my man in Newington has been enjoying Rusty Nails (whisky and Drambuie) and close relatives. I can't remember all the names, but you can sub Frangelico or Amaretto for the Drambuie. 2:1 proportions, on the roicks. Excellent after dinner.

Then there's THIS:

Am I Blue:
1. 5 oz scotch, .5 sweet verm, .25 luxardo, Dash bitters, Stir in glass w ice and strain into champagne flute, Top up w champagne (you should not need that much). Garnish with burnt orange peel!

"Raga is a 1971 documentary film about the life and music of Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar, produced and directed by Howard Worth. It includes scenes featuring Western musicians Yehudi Menuhin and George Harrison, as well as footage of Shankar returning to Maihar in central India, where as a young man he trained under the mentorship of Allauddin Khan. The film also features a portion of Shankar and tabla player Alla Rakha's acclaimed performance at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival." via wikithingy.
