bought oculus vr glasses because of lockdown frustration and tried them out today – quite a contrast to listen to old shellac records, but both is nice ... :) being able to visit every place in the world virtually with this gadget is quite impressive, although the resolution for 360° isn't quite there yet ... just have been to washington and new york virtually. :)

I'm just glad I went to the barber just in time before the lockdown – I was already much overdue and what's growing on my head would have become VERY critical until Januar 11th ...
Avatar 10:58am
zivilars:

wouldn't be surprised if the lockdown will be even longer – what's your current date in the Netherlands when everything should reopen again?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am
Jan Turkenburg:

hahahahahaha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am
Jan Turkenburg:

january 19, but only a week before they will decide what will happen next.
Avatar 11:01am
zivilars:

wow, even one week longer than here – but very well possible that our lockdown will be extended. the days after christmas with all its visits and contacts (no matter what the rules are) could get ugly ...
Avatar 11:03am
notsoKWYET:

Same thing here in Toronto --- basically they kept all the big stores open and pretty much everything else but small business.... which weren't the problems in the first place
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am
Jan Turkenburg:

I hear you notsoKwyet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am
spodiodi:

i'm all for lock-downs... people need to stop acting like this thing is suddenly no longer a threat.

"California has set nationwide records for new cases again and again in the past week - most recently on Wednesday, when it posted more than 41,000 infections. If California were a country, it would be among the world leaders in new covid-19 cases, ahead of India, Germany and Britain."
Avatar 11:17am
notsoKWYET:

I'm all for lockdowns as long as they don't just benefit big business
Avatar 11:30am
zivilars:

Jan, do you play all your radio show music from mp3s or (sometimes) directly from vinyl or even shellacs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am
Jan Turkenburg:

agree. That's why the Dutch Government is tightening up the rules so the big warehouses can't find ways around them anymore.
Avatar 11:33am
notsoKWYET:

OOOOO thank you!
Avatar 11:33am
zivilars:

wow, can't miss Aloha Friday tomorrow, that sounds great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am
spodiodi:

that is what needs to happen... not "to hell with lock-downs because big businesses are exempt" -- they need to be held to the same restrictions, not less restrictions for every (smaller) business
Avatar 11:34am
notsoKWYET:

I don't want to toot my own horn --- but it's the most out-ther thing I've ever done... but in a very calm way
Avatar 11:34am
zivilars:

new show?? count me in!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am
Jan Turkenburg:

I play from digital files mostly. Once or twice a year I play shellac from a portable grammophone on this show.
Avatar 11:37am
zivilars:

I see – nice to know, I wondered about that. A shellac grammophone is something I also still have an eye on for myself, only own one of those futuristic modern vinyl players ... ;)
Avatar 11:56am
zivilars:

thanks for a great show, Jan - have a great day! Looking forward to the new Sheena's show on Saturday! (if I understood this correctly)
