I got in real trouble for missing check-in w/ my band director, but worth it. My aforementioned friend even wrote a beat poem set to bebop about it as he found it so funny. We also spent a lot of time w/ a mandolin crafter and spent hours playing w/ them. (I still talk to him weekly, and got his family to move to from FL to Brooklyn).

	3:52pm loveless: @KPX It's spicy fermented cabbage. Not available at big grocery stores but specialty ones or at a Korean market.

	3:52pm Handy Haversack: We have cocktails, the dog, and two out of three cats chilling to SBB by tree light. Not too shabby for a chilly Friday.
	3:54pm Rick G: @kpx. Yes. Often by the tofu. Usually napa cabbage based version. It’s got a bit of a fizz from fermentation. Often made with fish sauce or small salted shrimp, though you can make a vegan version. Somewhat spicy but not super hot usually.
	3:54pm northguineahills: @kpx: I can find in most large supermarkets here in FL, but I'd prefer Asian and Korean (specifically) markets for the best stuff. Remember, kimchi is any fermented vegetable, not just cabbage (I believe there are over 144 varieties, and then the North has their own recipes.
	3:55pm tim from champaign (now washington): KPX - imagine a saur kraut made with napa cabbage. THen add a salty spcy kick to the viegar flavor. Most big supermarkets carry kim chi in the produce section. It seems to be stocked by the fresh mushrooms, sprouts and tofu area.

	4:14pm Deborah: Clyde the Kitty rules my life, more so now that I am home and altering his routine. He whines, cries, and begs for food all the time, even after eating so much! We are on 5 pm watch too. The best is when he is so super vocal while I am teaching a remote class. "Professor, can we see the kitty," students often ask in an attempt to divert from academics.
	4:14pm Monica: Read that NYT article too (it was pre-Covid). Agree re: third party apps. And yes, CASH whenever possible to delivery guys/gals. Nothing grates me more than cheap tippers. Says A LOT about a person. Also, people who take forever buzzing the delivery people in or who fumble around for money or whatever. Time is money in that biz. Spoken as a (grumpy) former waitress.

I got in real trouble for missing check-in w/ my band director, but worth it. My aforementioned friend even wrote a beat poem set to bebop about it as he found it so funny. We also spent a lot of time w/ a mandolin crafter and spent hours playing w/ them. (I still talk to him weekly, and got his family to move to from FL to Brooklyn).

	3:54pm Rick G: @kpx. Yes. Often by the tofu. Usually napa cabbage based version. It’s got a bit of a fizz from fermentation. Often made with fish sauce or small salted shrimp, though you can make a vegan version. Somewhat spicy but not super hot usually.
	3:54pm northguineahills: @kpx: I can find in most large supermarkets here in FL, but I'd prefer Asian and Korean (specifically) markets for the best stuff. Remember, kimchi is any fermented vegetable, not just cabbage (I believe there are over 144 varieties, and then the North has their own recipes.
	3:55pm tim from champaign (now washington): KPX - imagine a saur kraut made with napa cabbage. THen add a salty spcy kick to the viegar flavor. Most big supermarkets carry kim chi in the produce section. It seems to be stocked by the fresh mushrooms, sprouts and tofu area.

But I dated a Jewish girl for 3.5 years (we moved to NYC together {I knew more about Judaica law then her) (but NYC did teach me Yiddish). Best Jewish wedding I went to had a ska-dub band at the reception.
