Just in from Wale n Bake. I don't know how Clay maintains his enthusiasm and energy but I'm grateful, especially for a Mondy.

Sort of get what Clay is doing. The college classes that I teach are three hours long. Before each class I get the energy, the show going...Once showtime begins, it just goes by itself; most of the time. Sometimes it is totally forced. Don't know about Clay.

HyperDose, I saw someone describe Raised by Wolves as like Game of Thrones on a ton of coke, which seemed fairly reasonable!

I had seen Keely with Sam and the Witnesses at the Desert Inn c. 1994, she had an arm in a sling (she’d slipped on some ice) and the band was SO sharp. Got on the phone with her six or seven years later and it was a long string of Louis’s cruelties and indiscretions, with her sighing and half-pardoning him as she went along (“that was the way it was then” and so forth).
Thank you Dennis for that Anita O’Day recommendation!

I was so lucky to get on a phone with Keely and I told her that first thing! She was just plain generous with the storytelling. Later I got the same feeling while interviewing Bert Jansch — he had a new album and tour and probably didn’t much feel like talking to anyone about that or anything (friendly but very soft-spoken), yet he indulged me and talked ramblingly about touring around the UK in the 1960s with Anne Briggs et al.
