When I used to live in northern NJ, we took special trips to Queens to go to Sripraphai. That’s how unusual it was circa the late 90s-early 00s, before all these others sprung up around it. (Then a great place called Boonsong opened in Bloomfield and DJ Donna B. told me about it — check that out, Jerseyans.) And now I’m in Brooklyn and make “special” trips on the R train to Queens.

@Marie, IMHO the best Thai place is Khao Kang on Woodside Ave. It’s a steam-table place so you wouldn’t think it would be so amazing but it is. But watch out, the spicy stuff is really spicy, because it’s already made and thus cannot toned down for gringos, ha.

Hubig true that is the norm. i keep all nuts and seeds, oils and grains in the refrigerator or freezer.
-except short-term use things (like my big bottle of olive oil's in the 'fridge but i keep some out too)
