Looking at a very long night and weeken d--Mom's home aide called out sick today, so there's days' worth of dishes, laundry, and other shit that I have to deal with tonight when I go up there after work. Mom's OK and has food in but still....this is the third Friday in a row that her aide has pulled this shit. Mom really likes her but she is getting less and less reliable, and Mom is afraid to have someone else from teh agency cover due to COVID...

Re: Gang of Four. It was fantastic! So good. The band had so much energy and good spirit. It was great to hear songs I know backward and forward played live. I think the singer John King went to the same front man school as Bob Pollard (except John didn't down 30 beers during their set).

I think The Prisoner was meant to be contemporary with the late 1960s. No. 6 was supposed to be John Drake, McGoohan's character from Danger Man/Secret Agent, but for rights reasons they couldn't say that. Obv the aesthetic in the Village is its own, though.

I'll have to read Tinker Tailor someday so that I can finally understand WTF was going on in that Gary Oldman movie. It was absolutely incomprehensible and Oldman seemed to be playing a character so weirdly translucent that he almost disappeared off the goddamn screen. I have to assume that 2 hours simply isn't enough to tell that story.

I would recommend Poisoner In Chief by Stephan Kinzar. It's a real life account of The CIA using LSD as a secret weapon. I'm sure you've heard of MK ULTRA. Considering your recent experiences with magic mushrooms to get to the other side, this might be right up your alley.

Another movie based on a Real life spy, Mo Berg, is The Catcher was a Spy, released in 2018. I’m sure there are books written about him. But it’s a pretty fascinating story and a pretty good movie! Mo Berg was a major league baseball player, Ivy League graduate, attorney and top-secret spy during WWII.
