I am sure the Dead in the 60's and early 70's (and probably that legendary Cornell show) are pretty rad. Jerry was a phenomenally gifted guitarist, its just what he did with it in the 80's was awful. Regarding John Cale I could bet a really hard version of Magazines was a real banger LIVE.

They can go from inspired transcendence to terrible within minutes. I appreciate that but I’m a super-fan.

I am sure the Dead in the 60's and early 70's (and probably that legendary Cornell show) are pretty rad. Jerry was a phenomenally gifted guitarist, its just what he did with it in the 80's was awful.
