Ah the strange thrill high-school me got from Joan Jett's cover of this, when she didn't do a gender update of the lyrics.

That period, and those styles, of psychedelic influences overlapping with old garage, early punk, glam, hard rock, metal: great tunes and fascinating musical genealogy!

AVALANCHE WARNING--:due to high sounddrifts listeners may find themselves burried to their ears-do not struggle--you may knock your beer over
  2:19am
Adam:

Post-punk era is ever intriguing, too: genre- conventions had softened and had not re-hardened yet into other subgenres through the '80s and after. Damn, you're good, Therese!

Wild, Bill:

As an unsolicited defense by a third party, or if you prefer as an aside: sometimes great trash can be enjoyed as a has been relic, even if it was overplayed to the point of pain, etc. Joe Queenan wrote that happened to him with Manilow. Better that song than Vicki Lawrence's work on "Mama's Family"...
  2:54am
bill the peg leg envelope stuffer motherfucker:

what better reason--what more could i ask of any dj

Ain't a damn thing wrong with Vicki Lawrence.
