Can you hear me? The board was a messed up when I got here...
  6:08am
ausmanx:

can hear you in sydney, which is about as far away as you can get! good evening, DJE
  6:08am
hamburger:

Yep - what did Stan do!? Morning.

Classic excuse 'it was like that when I got here'
  6:18am
hamburger:

this show's like continent hopping
  6:20am
JJJ:

I still miss Hotrod but your show's really grown on me Jason :)
  6:20am
woj:

connecticut checking in.
  6:27am
stefan:

Hi Jason, I am also listening in Rotterdam. Hope there will be a listener in Katzenellbogen, Germany. like your show:)
  6:28am
hamburger:

Liz Dyer loves her some shrimp?
Avatar 6:32am
DJelbogen:

Ham--I think Ms. Dyer's more partial to the vehicles which collect and transport shellfish than the shrimp themselves.
  6:37am
JJJ:

Your shows great, Hotrod just became part of my routine, sorry Jason! Not the same person! <3
  6:39am
hamburger:

I think it could be taken that they weren't saying anything against you or your show specifically, unless it was something like "BOO JASON! - WHERE'S HOT ROD? I MISS HOT ROD!"
Avatar 6:41am
DJelbogen:

Oh--and by 'Nigeria' I meant that 22 Band KanKan are from 'Guinea'!
  6:51am
Simon:

Good morning from the UK! I can't tell you how many times I've switched on WFMU and the first tune I heard I've thought "wow I want to hear more from that band" 22 Band Kankan! Great stuff Jason, thanks.
  7:19am
Simon:

Well that was wierd, there I was just getting on with some work listening to the radio, and then the DJ addresses me in person. Can't say that's happened before. Apparentlys there's a CD by Peter Hook's, where about 10 mintues after the music has finished, Hooky's voice comes out of the speakers saying somthing like "The music's finished mate, you can turn the CD player off now." I imagine the effect is similar.

DJelbogen:

Simon - 'WFMU' ---> we know your name.
  7:31am
Simon:

OK now it's all gone a bit Minority Report. The music is still great by the way.
  7:34am
Simon:

Incidentally - is everyone else hearing the same music as me or has that been tailored too? Is this actually a radio station or just some kind of Steve Jobs Genius weird-out playlist thing.
  7:35am
duke:

@Simon We're each hearing our favorite songs. Yours may be different than mine, but we both likes Wheelz of Steel.
Avatar 7:36am
DJelbogen:

Warning: Long noisy instrumental track. But one that I heard and liked so much it made me buy the album.
  7:41am
Simon:

What is particularly wierd / prescient is that the work i am doing whilst listening to this is exactly about slightly creepy 1-1 targeting stuff. Like a circle in a circle and wheel within a wheel.
  7:43am
hamburger:

someone's performing inception on you simon!
  7:43am
JJJ:

What a great song
Avatar 7:44am
DJelbogen:

JJJ - Yeah I thought so, too! I had to have it!
  7:44am
duke:

It's all part of WFMU's world domination plans.
  7:46am
Simon:

@hamburger I was just reflecting on the fact that it was a good job I didn't consume excessive amounts of hallucinogenics when younger, otherwise I might indeed be having an interesting moment right now. To which this tune, incidentally, would be the perfect accompaniment
  8:01am
Sometimes Jasmine:

last two tracks remind me of what happens when I put my ipod on shuffle....
  8:04am
JJJ:

Sometimes randomly DJing in alphabetical order works really well
  8:07am
Cheri Pi:

Heeere!!
  8:08am
Flora:

Good Meow-ning~
  8:09am
JJJ:

I always wondered if you could swear as much as you like on the web only shows?
  8:09am
ausmanx:

the FBI will have records of how many people are listening to each FMU show, i'm sure, so i reckon you could just ask them...
  8:11am
FBI Agent John Carter:

hahah lulz ausmanx - that's 100% not true at all! just carry on listening!
Avatar 8:13am
DJelbogen:

We need to get our C.I.A. folks for Mr. Ausmanx, though....
  8:20am
serge:

hello from France! merci pour la bonne musique !
  8:20am
ausmanx:

our own very talented and clever intelligence service, ASIO, share that information with your spooks, i'm very sure. and with the lovely MI6, i'm sure... there's a great pub across the Thames from the concrete MI6 headquarters which has a telescope in the window so you can spy into the building...
  8:21am
ausmanx:

and incidentally, the Arizona Youth stuff sounds and bit hippie and communist to me...
  8:22am
NSA:

Your remarks have been duly noted. Thank you for playing!
  8:31am
hamburger:

communist hippies... the most irritating type of hippy?
  8:32am
herb:

oooh, this is like my 3rd or 4th time ever listening to WFMU betw 6&9am *ON THE INTERNET*. it's much different from NACHUM's show. now, who the hell is IRV SEEBER and how come this song is so good?
  8:38am
herb:

(1) is that KANICKI from KANICKI & ZIPPY (or something like that?) (2) thanks for the ton of info you just aired on IRV SEEBER (3) my name is pronounced FRED. i will try & tune in again, thank you.
  8:40am
herb:

  8:44am
hamburger:

Panda diplomacy?
  8:47am
hamburger:

hmmm fooood beckons / fun show jason
  8:48am
herb:

if i recall, CHINA was gonna lend TAIWAN some pandas. normally that would require paperwork upon paperwork. but china said "well, since yr part of china there's no paperwork to do". taiwan said "oh no, we're a diff country, plz mail us the papers!". i don't know what happened.
  8:48am
Cheri Pi:

This is the DISCO I was promised, when I was promised Disco!!!
  8:50am
Cheri Pi:

I think Nina Hagen was the promisory of said Disco
  10:36am
Doug S.:

ANAL DJ QUERY ALERT...
Jason, what is your source for the date of 1980 on that Apostles LP? Everything I'm turning up suggests 1973-4 as the approx. year of release.
  3:36am
Thibault:

to answer your question Jason, “Il est vivant” (not “Is est vivant”) means “He is alive” (not “It’s alive”). It’s a religious expression referring to the Christ. Great Thomas Wooley School Band’s tune by the way.
