dc patricio:

hmm. Thanks for the tip pss. gotta check it out..
Avatar 1:32pm
glenn:

hmmm. i don't think mccartney is mean or spiteful in the same way lennon was, and he's not even in the same league when it comes to self absorption. he does seem very insecure and needy, and i think this leads him to make some unbelievably bad life decisions, usually involving the ladies.
Avatar 1:34pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh, but there will be Kraftwerk in half an hour after Amanda is 2/3 done with her show at 2.
Drop-ins...Amanda, we SHOULD do our shows at the same time. I'll be your remote. You'll be my control group.
Avatar 1:34pm
dc patricio:

not denying any of that--Lennon never got over the fact that his parents didn't want him which I think affected other aspects of his personal life. But I think you could say that Lennon was a douche to your face where as McCartney was a douche behind everyone's backs. I like Paul too though.
Avatar 1:35pm
dc patricio:

By the way, L'Age d'Or was great with Kraftwerk soundtrack...

- Paulie's a ♊ Geminee - & always wanted it Both Ways - & often a versatile enuff genius to pull it off...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
pacific standard simon:

I'll have to look for those, bob -- always liked his work with Neil Young & Crazy Horse.
Avatar 1:38pm

also, Lennon, because of things like self-absorption as you rightly pointed out, is WAY less one-dimensional and WAY more interesting than Paul.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm

As long as you're doing asstrology, Rabbit, Jeff Beck is another crab & monkey.

Sir Macca is the Mozart - the Melodic Genius of Rock. (You could debate what relative use Melody is in Rock - but it's true anyhow.) & a contendor for best Bassist. & one of thee Great Singers. & Songwriters. & more. ...usually - all @ the *same time*...
- My understanding is Paul & George swapped Bass & Lead for 'Taxman' !...
Avatar 1:44pm
glenn:

is this about getting waxed?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm
Amanda:

Eeeewwwww...
Avatar 1:48pm
dc patricio:

Yes I've often thought of Mozart as the McCartney of the European classical world. Paul's guitar solo is what I was talking about. How does "the bass player" come up with that lead?? Influential as hell.
Avatar 1:55pm
ndbob:

Nice Derek Martin song - never heard this before
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- Paul said he said he did the 'Taxman' lead 'Indian-style' for George.
...Of course, Paul was a Guitarist before a Bassist - & the Melodic genius was part of the Bass-playing & Songwriting - not separate. (The Bass is often considered the simplest job in a RockBand - but you must also stay w/ the Rhythm Section - w/out fail - & relate to the Melodic aspect @ the same time.)
- George Martin remarked how impressed he was Macca taught himself piano...
