Hi, Alex! Ha, Fleep!

ChrisB.:

Should Montage be filed under "Chamber Pop," or "Sunshine Pop?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am
Wendy del Formaggio:

Joe McG, that picture is awesome. Considering my general opinion of the acting ability of Mr. Hanks, it works in a few different ways.

Temporarily, of course. Do that plus help repair the 3rd floor and get Ken's dog some anti-anxiety meds, you get a coupon for whatever timeslot u want in 2017. J/k I'll shush now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am
Joe McG:

@ChrisB: I would say "Chamber Pop" or "Baroque Rock"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am
DCE:

surprised we aren't hearing a lot more Left Banke lately
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am
Joe McG:

@DCE: You will be soon! :)

Cheryl Ladd did a soft-rock cover of 'Skinnydippin', btw. I hoped that memory had been long erased, but no.

great LB track - Alice Cooper did a cool version of this. RIP Michael Brown.

Roberto:

Michael Brown appeared on Bob Brainen in early '03, along with Tom Finn. It was an epic, all-over-the-place show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01am

I seem to go through a lot of click stars during Single File.

I didn't know he passed. that's sad.

Back in time for the Brown trib. Speaking of Browns, that was a firebreathing JB track you played just shy of 10:30.

so is Stories related in some way to Michael Brown?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am
Parq:

This is neat. I don't know any of these except for "Call You Up".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am
Joe McG:

@DCE: Yeah, Stories was his second band. He made 2 LPs with them before leaving them!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am
coelacanth:

so,aside from not knowing Michael Brown was in stories, i've been completely ignorant to this band.

great trib, Joe - did anyone ever tell you you rule?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am
Joe McG:

@DCE: They're pretty easy to find and usually cheap. Not all gold, but some really great stuff on them, esp. if you're a fan of the Left Banke style, slightly updated to the 70s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am
ChrisB.:

Wait a minute? Stories? "Brother Louie" Stories???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am
Joe McG:

@ChrisB: That's them! Thanks, VP!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am
coelacanth:

i only have "brother louie" on multi-artist comps, but i've heard the first album. overall i like Hot Chocolate more (at least "cicero park"), but Stories killed it! (in a good way!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am
Uncle Michael:

Hot Chocolate's original still beats Stories "Brother Louie" cover. Sorry.

From what I recall, Michael pretty much tells all to Bob Brainen on that '03 appearance. Check out the archives for the full story!
