ohh, that article is pretty interesting, fleep! Native american Algonquin people had the word "the Pink Moon" for the April moon - so that could be where the Nick Drake's song title came from???
  9:58pm
JakeGould:

The moon is called a blue moon due to a gross misunderstanding of science that has been passed along through folklore and is now respected mainly as a cute, folky tradition.
  10:00pm
ALAN:

A Blue Moon refers to 2 full Moons in the same calendar month, just incase nobody had pointed that out yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02pm
coelacanth:

Thanks for that link fleep. it does state at least one thing as fact that is not fact, though. >"a blue moon (however you define it) occurs once every 2.7 years."...well that's simply not true- by the definition most people believe & don't question. there are often 2 "blue" moons in a year (2010;2012;2018...) so even if the author meant "average",2.7 years wouldn't be true.

  10:32pm
JakeGould:

@KenfromHydePark: I wonder if the full moon has anything to do with the odd dizziness i felt early tonight. One drink of Manhattan Special Coffee Soda got rid of it though so it could just be a lack of electrolytes in my diet.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm

oy. squelching in public is rude; though not in all cultures.
  10:57pm
JakeGould:

Also, the whole thing about the pig who owned the straw house being weaker than the wood house being weaker than the brick house is nonsense. With good engineering, a straw house can be just as strong as a brick house. And if the wolf blows hard enough on the “sweet spot” of a brick house… Boom! it all comes down. All brick lobbyist propaganda.

"Let not the actions of these few men defeat us or allow darkness to enter our hearts. If we do then we become one of them. Raise your vibration and allow this energy to move us forward. What happened does not need to be discussed as it is what it is. Take heart my child, I am finer than ever, grander than before as no one can take our purity, our truth or our soul. Ever. I am here. Be strong and speak for all the others who suffer needlessly to satisfy human greed. Bring Light and Love and we will rise above this."
