Wow. So many acts tried to opt in to the bubblegum craze with mixed results. Bands like The Wrest couldn't get it - or The Sweet Bippies (IMHO). They sounded too "old." The Fun and Games came closer with songs like Elephant Candy. It was a hard sound to master. Joey Levine seemed to perfectly embody the "voice" of bubblegum. The there was the holy grail of bubblegum; it's Stairway To Heaven, if you will ... Quick Joey Small by Kasenetz-Katz. Wow. Love that stuff. An antidote to the Hendrix-Heavy sounds of that time that was too much for 10 year olds to handle. Great show, Michael.

From kiddehood & older siblings' 45s - will always associate the Buddha label w/ the aforementioned Quick Joey Small by Kasenetz-Katz - Cameo in red, white & black w/ '96 Tears' - Atco yellow & white w/ a trumpet w/ Cream 'Crossroads' - & also 'Inna Gadda Davida' - which I was very big on in 1st grade...& that black label w/ a spectrum rainbow was 'On the Road Again by Canned Heat: the 'spectrum' of harmonic notes that begins & ends it correlated perfectly to the visual...What was on the blue 'Bell' label w/ the silver Bell?...
