@ Webhamster: It's probably a lack of imagination on my part, but I am totally uninterested in the eclipse. Now the supermoon, that caught my fancy.

What about the end-of-the-world, 2012 edition? Anyway, if it seems dark at 10:19 on Monday (PDT), it's because the sun is ransomed by the moon.

I do remember the EZ Bake Oven being a thing I got for birthday/xmas/something. Used it once. The whole thing smelled like burning plastic and the 'cake' was the size of a single pancake that stuck to the pan. It mysteriously disappeared from my childhood home shortly afterward.

Yeah, all the usual eclipsing suspects. And hotel rooms are about $800k a night. We're coming up the following week. Sounds like Portland visit is in order.
  2:21pm
Dean:

You know, all this talk of the eclipse, combined with a comment I left this a.m. on Matt W.'s show regarding Pete Sears, connected the dots for me. The name of Sears' group Moonalice is a play on Ralph Kramden's regular threat.
