hmmmm, do I happen to pick images with clocks in them? I don't think I've noticed this trend, beside the New Years show

Hiya!

This picture comes from a great collection of pictures of women who work in an airplane factory during WW2.... Not sure if this is from that set, but not long ago they released a bunch of these photos....

The real Rosie the Riveter? We're now sure it was Norma Parker Frawley and not Geraldine Hoff Doyle, even though we used to be sure it was Doyle. I think we'll probably never really know.

i used to get mailed a "murphy's law" calendar every year from a lawyer i used many years ago. that went directly to the free stuff pantry in town. i don't need a calendar that much. i suppose whoever lives at my old address still gets them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm
Meghan:

I am going to assume it's not Murphy's Law the band.... but if it is, that would be amazing that a lawyer would be sending that.... hehehehe

It's true, some early 90s music is closely related to the music of the 80s, because after all, calendars are arbitrary and time is an illusion! But the early 90s shoegaze scene, for instance, is distinct in some ways from the 80s. Lush, Curve, Swervedriver, and other such bands always sounded more "90s" to me than "80s", but it's all subjective. And you just played Think Tree recently! They put out a good album in 1991.
  1:35pm
Mark R:

These King Gizzard guys seem to put out a new album every other month!
  1:36pm
queems:

so far i’ve liked pretty much everything i’ve heard from king gizzard
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
Meghan:

We have been seeing their albums in the new bin a lot lately....

Ike, see, I see all the shoegaze stuff as late 80's, since that was related to the other stuff I was listening to and until grunge killed it all... As for Think Tree, that is just purely Boston for me. Not a time thing, just a memory
  1:38pm
Mark R:

And in my experience, they're all good! Love this "Rattlesnake" track--it's totally badass. And there's kind of a Middle Eastern-y thing happening, to my ears.
  1:44pm
Mark R:

Really wonderful set, Meghan. Yes, The Fall...(sigh)...I guess he'd been quite ill for some time, but still...
  1:46pm
Mark R:

They have something like 32 albums out or something? (and hardly any two of them have identical lineups!)
  1:46pm
queems:

oh man piebald. so many memories
  1:48pm
Mark R:

I never heard of them, but I'm an ignoramus. And anyway, I like them, so I'm cool, I guess.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm
Meghan:

ha, true..... but I do have to go to work!

Marathon dates start March 4 to March 18

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm
