There are three streams that have at least some live programming, and the UbuWeb and Boredcast streams which are shuffle-mode streams.

The Boredcast stream has saved me, from time to time.

There will have to be a 20% tariff on the aluminum for that hat.

Can you talk about how you think the end of net neutrality will effect WFMU. I am guessing you may already have but I missed it.

@Dave - The 11/27 program had some discussion on that: www.wfmu.org...

I want to hear Kimzilla respond to Mark like the robot. That could be fun.

Probably not great for a fund drive, though ...

Ever since I started listening to Techtonic, I've seen my Twitter feed through a more skeptical eye, both stories about tech promise and intrusiveness, and my Twitter experience itself. I'm sure Mark is sick of my cc'ing him on retweets of various stories of, say, Facebook's multi-tentacular creepiness!

@Rich, that's exactly what the Jolly Roger bot reminds me of!

"Hackers" is the most important book Mr. Levy has written, I believe.

It gets you into the culture of real computer geeks (as distinct from the kiddies-come-later).

Mark, you do a fantastic job hosting this show. It's always a packed hour and your range of guests indeed spans wonder and terror at the promise of tech. And it's well worth some tech-money karma. Or as I'd put it, weregild (en.wikipedia.org...).

Facebook et al. are facing an end-of-"The Godfather" reckoning for their role in election 2016. The least they can do is help immunize folks to the lure of tech's dark side via funding this show.

Speaking of kiddies-come-later, has there been any discussion on Techtonic about trends in coding & design that reflect fashion more than sense?

I'm always struck by how much "best practices" are really just fashion statements that require denigrating practices that made new practices possible. It's as if digital technologies really never existed until, say, about 18 months ago.

Matching grants info page: www.wfmu.org... If one's company asks how much the employee has given to WFMU, how would he/she respond? I've got a bunch of emails from my various pledges. Would we email Joe to have him send an email that gives the total for the calendar year?
