I like to think (and
the sooner the better!)
of a cybernetic meadow
where mammals and computers
live together in mutually
programming harmony
like pure water
touching clear sky.
I like to think
(right now, please!)
of a cybernetic forest
filled with pines and electronics
where deer stroll peacefully
past computers
as if they were flowers
with spinning blossoms.
I like to think
(it has to be!)
of a cybernetic ecology
where we are free of our labors
and joined back to nature,
returned to our mammal
brothers and sisters,
and all watched over
by machines of loving grace.

These robots are soothing my under slept nerves and setting a beat for my deepening breath broken by sips of coffee. Goodmorning friends! Goodmorning Joe!
Hey Joe - great set! Big fan of this Drama LP - first turned onto it by Tony Coulter on his Canadian special last fall. Very glad they reissued it cause the originals are pricey!!!

Yup yup, today May be the day I embrace the robotic and let the program do the work..work ... work... work...
Hearing all these old electronic sounds reminds me that WFMU's twitter featured a post from Laughing Squid about Kraftwerk's 1st TV appearance: laughingsquid.com...
Brian: I have a b&w photo somewhere of one of the NEMS shop windows: rock posters, stereos, turntables, along with TVs and kitchen/laundry appliances! hee. Oh> here 'tis: st33.wordpress.com...
The opening chords of this Silk 45 led us to believe that you were about to spring the Bay City Rollers on us, Joe. Similar production sound, maybe? Anyway, great show as ever. Good morning!
@TDK60 surprised that it was still a going concern into the 70s.
Love the quote 'I worked at Nems in 1962 and sold post card size pictures of the Beatles for 1/6'
I spoke with John Davis of Folk Implosion last year. The residuals from "Natural One" have continued to sustain him over the years. Kind of the tail end of when this kind of thing could happen.
Funny-- the company I work for makes training documents for pharmaceutical companies, and Sandoz is one of our clients. Had no idea about their history!
Tom Lehrer lived down the street from the record store I used to work at, and we'd see him walking down the street all the time. I was always tempted to say hi, but I know he would have hated it. He's getting up there, but I still see him around Cambridge. (Also, yay Tom Lehrer!)
oh man, Joe, I was going to say Jake Thackery sounded a lot like Ed McCurdy. Well chosen! Ed McCurdy's "Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream" was sung by throngs as they tore down the Berlin Wall.
@Joe: Allegedly Noel Hill of Planxty described the Pogues' music as "a terrible abortion" during a radio panel with them, so they recorded a traditional track in response
